It probably sucks for us that Nash made it, but he has been great for them before and always have excelled on the big ice.
I especially think he had glowing reviews for his team work. Sometimes it takes a big ego and the ability to take a lot of space in the group to get the role you need and so forth. That's the last thing you want on a team like this though, you want the opposite. You want someone that is very calm and will go about his business no matter what hand he is dealt.
When picking this team, the guys in charge sat down and mapped up its core. It's the core that should get the puck and that will win you the tournament. That core can only be 5-6 forwards and 3-4 Ds. Then you fit in the rest. Hence you end up with some picks that will confuse fans.
I mean, head to head you can question some picks (Jeff Carter???), but when you sit there with the hole team mapped up and have a role open that will play 8 minutes, next to a player that you know is good at X but needs help with Y, some kind of overall ability level don't matter much.
