I hope they decide for the day AFTER the season ends, if necessary. Forcing Columbus to fly to Dallas and back during an off day to squeeze it in would be unfair for a team that handled the situation with class and respect.

Hopefully we will have clinched second by then and the two points won't matter.

Any news on the makeup date?

This is a quote from the recent update on Peverly's condition (out for remainder of season) on ESPN:

"As for the conclusion of Monday's game following Peverley's collapse, the league will decide if it will need to be completed."

The way the East and the Metro are knotted, I imagine the game will indeed need to be completed, but the implication here is that the determination would be made at the end of the season. That's my preference.

The encouraging thing from the article is that there doesn't seem to be any mention that Peverly's career is over. It's stated a few times that he'll be out 2-3 months. Ain't no doctor, but I can see how that is incomplete information that could change, and Peverly may have some ideas about his career himself and whether it's worth it to continue to play, but it's good that it sounds like that's a decision that he can make and not one being made by his condition.

Peverley is officially out for the rest of the season.

I expected that.... I hope he considers his NHL future too...

As for the makeup game, I'm guessing it will be played the day after the season ends and it will be a complete 60 minute game with the Jackets getting a goal... Horton should get credit for a goal in the NHL records...

A repeat of the 2005 Detroit game when a player had a bench issue cancelling that game....

Game rescheduled for April 9. A back to back for both teams but Dallas is at home the night before.

Thanks NHL, the Jackets are the team who you should be cutting a break.

there wasn't much time to slip them in before end of season...we have to live with 4 back to backs on the schedule...adapt and overcome

4 games in 5 nights to close the season.:shakehead Hopefully, Florida and Phoenix will be going through the motions and uninterested. Tampa, Dallas and CBJ will probably still be fighting for positioning.

They should give CBJ an extra day or two before they start their playoff series too.

well this date sucks for both team, each team has 4 games in 5 nights. I hope that both of us have things handled at that point.

Kekalainen wouldn't comment, but sources told The Dispatch that the Florida Panthers declined to move their April 12 game with Columbus to April 13.

Even beyond that, they have 8 games in 12 nights to close out the season. That's pretty brutal.
