Did you get confirmation the contract he signed? I saw one that said it was an ELC for this year and another that said ATO...(sorry if you answered this somewhere I got bored of the batman stuff and skipped forward).

I would assume he wouldn't need the ATO if the ELC started this season, not burning a year of his ELC is probably the right move even if I'd like to see him in San Jose this year.

with the hype this kid is getting im expecting to be sorely dissapointed.

i watched him one time with BU against BC recently. i honestly couldnt pick him out half the time, but he made some sneaky plays and he plays a direct game. so im hoping he impresses.

Good signing, now if Im not mistaken and I dont think its been mentioned yet but can Nieto play the final 10 games of the season and play the entire playoffs without effecting his entry level years?

He's apparently signed to an AHL ATO, so cannot play in NHL without utilizing his NHL ELC.

I can't see the Sharks inserting him into the lineup unless there's injuries.

More likely that he'll be among the players allowed to "hang out" (AKA black aces and/or "thank you trip" to NHL town) during playoffs.

Nieto cannot play in the NHL, he's on an ATO.
