Jones had a solid game. I’m really impressed with his game despite being out of the lineup for ages. This dude might be a player. You have to give him credit for not complaining about playing time. I’m sure it’s helped him gain strength by spending more time in the gym.

New guys made their lines noticeably better.

Not much of a Trouba hater, but i'm warming up to it. His absence was noticeable but not for the right reasons.

Igor looks fully back. Made some big saves early.

Same here. I really don't hate Turnover Trouba, but the defense looked a lot better tonight. Maybe I imagined it, but it even looked like the defensemen didn't back up upon zone entry as much tonight.

They also did a great job of stepping up to steal passes into the zone.

Trouba has to play on the third pair when he comes back. Schneider is much more mobile than Trouba. Play Trouba with Gus so Gus can free roam and it forces Trouba to stay at home and not make a boneheaded pinch. It’s wishful thinking because we all know Lavi won’t do that. Why he has Trouba on the second power play is beyond me. It’s a short handed goal waiting to happen with his dumb decision making and slow skating.

The problem with that disallowed goal is the play is called a goal so it is now a dead play. Rangers could have put the rebound in to make it a sure goal but now the play is dead so we are f***ed.

NHL really needs to re-evaluate alot of these reviews. Goalie interference, kick ins, etc.. these reviews are a literal coin toss where we can see the same thing a week later called the other way

After the game tonight with some family. As we’re about to leave the parking garage and head back home this Porsche starts driving the opposite way, half in our lane or whatever.

Everyone in the car is like wtf is this idiot doing..?!

And as we’re passing the car I lean over from the passenger seat to give them finger or shout something mean at them like any self respecting New Yorker would be apt to do.

And lo and f***ing behold it’s Mika Zibanejad and his wife.

I totally squealed in surprise and got laughed at by everyone in the car, and then just as we were about out of the garage we passed a group of girls taking shelter from the rain squealing in the same pitch as me about how they just saw Mika drive by and I got laughed at again.

Solid night.

Someone mentioned (good post) Rangers have 4 players from the 2020 draft playing in this game. Laf Schneider Cuylle Rempe

That’s nuts and franchise altering.

By the way guy that just had a hat trick last night in Hartford Brett Berard not here yet is also from that draft along with their number one goalie Dylan Garand
Very impressive. The kids are really looking like difference makers and if Kakko figures it out, it’s not only a good team but a ton of fun rooting for those guys.

Are you suggesting that you want Gus to free roam but not Miller?

This scenario could happen and the puck not really be close to having gone in...should that be counted as a goal too?

For all our warts (at least according to this board) this is the level of opponent we likely play round one if we draw the Flyers, Wings, or Islanders. We took care of business like we should and that’s important.

Rempe deserves more minutes. He continues to impress me on the forecheck and I wish more than anything Brodzinski was getting the look over Goodrow. I thought initially he was going to be a flash in the pan but I’m beginning to see a player here. He has speed, effort on the defensive side of the puck, and the locker room loves him. If Peca and Muse can get him to play a bit more positionally sound, we may have a 25pt wrecking ball fixture in the bottom six for the next 5 years. Keep in mind this kid is 21 years old and a 6th round pick. Ton of room to keep growing

When the camera shows Rempe on the bench he commonly looks like an exuberant kid on Christmas who just received all the presents he was hoping for

Nice win. Congrats to Igor for his shutout.

If the Rangers do plan on moving bottom liners in and out of the lineup the next one against NJ might be a good one to scratch Rempe. Matthew played pretty well tonight....nearly scoring again. I was just thinking though it would be a laugh against the Devils who traded for MacDermid just because of the havoc Rempe caused in the last one and Kurtis won't likely be a factor at all except negatively if Matthew sits the next one out. So far in 3 games Kurtis has gotten a whopping 13 minutes total ice time combined and put his team on the penalty kill 3 separate times. Why fight the guy.....just let him put us on the power play if that's what they want.
100%. Or just tell rempe to not fight.

First, wanted to say that since I live in Europe, was watching the game this morning on my streaming service and during the commercials, you can usually still hear Sam, Joe and John talking, whether it's amongst themselves or to production. I usually fast forward during the commercials anyway, but happened to leave it on as the Dancing Larry song came on. As soon as he heard it, Sam said, "Ohhh no, here it is" and Joe goes "It's idiot time!". Just thought that was an interesting behind the scenes tidbit haha.

On to the actual game, we completely dominated in a way we haven't in a long time. Obviously helped by St. Louis looking like ass. Roslovic had a couple of shaky moments in his own zone, but overall, as I expected him to, had a really positive effect on the Mika line with his skating and playmaking ability.

Credit to Jones for playing well. It's a shame he probably doesn't have a future here simply because of the size on defense wins in the playoffs narrative, because I've always valued his poise with the puck. My type o defenseman.

It's really sad that we won't trade Trouba or at least demote him because of MUH HITS.

I was told draft picks don't matter, though.

I know it’s been said but the Rangers didn’t miss Trouba at all. If we went into the playoffs with these pairings I think there’s no doubt we would have a better chance to win.
What was the Rangers record without Fox early in the season?

Miller sometimes has rocks for brains and makes dumb decisions.
