Dirty plug of a player. Hope Rangers fans remember this thread, claiming he wasn't going to get sent down to the AHL and defending his nonsense.

So the league is basically telling defensemen that if you go to retrieve a puck, all you have to do is turn your back to Matt Rempe because we're going to suspend him 5 games if he touches you.

That's exactly what they teach you NOT to do playing hockey. This sport is so f***ing soft now, smh.

I'm not saying it wasn't penalty worthy, but an in person hearing for that? Are you f***ing serious?

What exactly do you think Miro did wrong here? Rempe is far away and is staring at Miro’s number, so it’s not like he has a guy right on him. And the puck is coming to him.

Literally no one else would want this plug as they can just get an AHLer tough guy who can actually fight to play for them.
I was gonna say. As of last year the dude could barely even fight, not sure if he's dropped the gloves this year. I think fighting is generally pointless anyway but still, hard to see the point of carrying this guy on your roster.

Yeah, I am sure defensemen would risk a serious injury for the chance to have some plug like Rempe suspended.

Oh wait.

Anyone on here that's trying to defend that hit is low grade classless moron. Rempe saw his numbers well before the hit, and never made any attempt to avoid, then he lifts his elbow, why, he hits him and leaves his feet to drive through the hit. I understand sometimes guys put themselves in bad situations, but this isn't one of them. The league needs to drop the hammer on this stuff, this was an obvious attempt to injure, and I'm fed up with the hypocrisy that players don't deliberately try to hurt one another, there's too many examples otherwise, and I've been watching this game since they used to clear the benches during fights, this isn't being physical, it's being psychotic.

While being a Rangers fan I never approved of Rempe's dirty hits (and anybody else's for that matter). And quite many, probably majority, of current Rangers fans don't approve of it either.
I recently started following Kraken (although I still support NYR) and I don't want any of Kraken players have this behavior.
Purposely and unnecessarily hurting other players does not belong in hockey.

If the 1 team that has him now only gives him a sweater once every 4 weeks (last 3 played Dec20/Nov25/Oct29) why on Earth would any other team want him

Kid's in danger of being a skidmark on the asterisk of a footnote and selling used cars in a year or two

Heiskanen didn't turn his back on Rempe. Rempe saw his numbers all the way.

Are you suggesting players should face away from the boards if they want to clear a puck on the boards? I can see a few problems with that logic.
I understand people having differing opinions, but arguing facts is a bit strange. I imagine Heiskanen did turn at some point before this screenshot, though. Do NHL guidelines allow for 15 feet of leeway?

And this screenshot raises even more questions, most prevalent - what in the deepest levels of the nine hells is Rempe doing out there with 12:52 left in a 1 goal game?

This seems like nothing. He rode him into the boards. If he was 6’2 no one says a word. Heiskanan was up within 5 seconds barking from the outside of the scrum like a scared little puppet
I love this kind of argument. "If he were significantly shorter, no one says a word." Yeah because if he is 6'2" his arm has to go further up to elbow him in the back of the head. Lol wtf kind of argument is that? Also, height doesn't matter when you're hitting someone in the numbers into the board.

Look at which player lead the league in social media impressions last year despite only playing what 17 games? I had random people hitting me up asking if i wanted to go to rangers games to see rempe.
So they spent $150-200 minimum, to watch a 4th liner play for 5 1/2 minutes. I wonder how many people went back a 2nd time

Rempe is so so so so much better for the sports than scrawny skill guys doing michigans
Oh shit. I didn't know about the social media impressions. f***. This should actually be viewed as a clean hit now, guys. Because of social media impressions.

I'm so confused... if this was an obvious clean hit why would they offer an in person hearing? The league is clearly biased against this harmless young man.
Well it's clearly one of two things:

1. It's an obvious ploy by the leauge to keep the Rangers neutered and Charmin-soft.
2. They are going to throw that young reputable gentleman a nice ice cream party.
