Why should i be ashamed of being right. He's the exact copy of Jordan Weal. Small player with good skating and mediocre everything else. You should be ashamed of yourself if you think Rem can sustain even a one third of his honeymoon-production in future.
Rem is 2x as fast as Weal. I don't think Weal would have been that bad if he was able to skate fine. He was slow as hell, that was what was holding him back the most.

Unfortunately he's a bottom six forward who is not good at defense. He's a lot of fun for the tank but the habs probably shouldn't want to have him around once they actually want to win games.
He’s a good 3rd line winger to have. The type of speed that turns defenders. He has good scoring ability - mostly contributes 5v5. I’m glad to have him on the team.

I'm glad to have him, and the speed is really good, especially now that we don't care if they win. Longer term he doesn't play good enough defense for top 9. He could be a really entertaining fourth liner, I suppose.

Byron is fast but he's a good defensive player.

Neither Rem Pilick or Paul Byron are great 3rd liners. TB had no trouble finding guys as good as them (often better) for under 3 millions over the past few years. We must avoid doing the same mistake with Rem Pitlick than we did with Byron. If he ever ask for more than 2.5 millions it must be bye bye.

I'd give him 2.5m

tell you what, his cousin is awful

Maybe this horrible season is taking a toll on my standards but lately he's been ok (strictly as a 4th line guy). Decent skating for a 6.2 200 guy. I'd much rather have him play as 4C and move Poehling to the wing on the top 6 until we get better forwards.

The man is shooting at 22%. When it goes back to 10% next season like pretty much everybody else , this won't get good at all.

Rem P. is a bottom six, possibly a 4th liner. Nothing more, nothing less.

As long as we only give him a 1 year deal, at least whatever cap hit it is won't hurt us long term.

I'd give him a short term, prove what you can do deal.

A healthy Byron inglis prime may be worth his cap hit. R. Pitlick is in his prime and hasn't shown he can't stay healthy. But we'll see what he is over the next two years. He'll be 25, 26, 27 over the next two years - right innthe prime of his career.

A very good waiver pick up and I am curious what everyone thinks his upside is.
20G 25A guy maybe? Higher? Lower?
Is he a replacement for Lehkonen?

I like him. I don't really see him as similar player to Byron or Lehkonen as others have pointed out. But I do see him as growing into middle 6 secondary scoring player. I think he settles in as a 15-20G scorer and a 20-30A player. I will be curious to see if the shooting percentage comes down next year.

I think development wise I am hopeful his efforts are focused on the defensive game. I don't think he's that bad defensively as it is (this was listed as a concern when Habs claimed him on waivers). I noticed he has had PK shifts and last game.he was on the ice final minute defending a lead.

But as he gains more experience in the NHL I hope he gets better and better defensively so he can be counted on as a top PKer.

honestly, maybe it's just me but he's player for a team that is not making the playoff. Not enough offence to be a top 6 guy and he's not really good defensively, not physical, not a F1 on forecheck either, small and not a face-off guy. He's not Lehkonen replacement who was a beast defensively and on the forecheck either Byron replacement who was really good PK player.

He's totally fine for us though because where rebuilding, but I see him as 10-15G and under 40 pts player and I don't see him as being part of the team when we will try to make the playoff

No big loss if he leaves. One way soft winger with a chance to develop into more. I'd guess he wouldn't be here when we're competitive regardless as he's not the type of guy a successful team has in their top 9.

The hell is this garbage? Sign Pitlick already and his 4-5 cousins also.

If the arbitrator gives him 3-4 million, we'll have issues signing our other RFAs like Romanov.

15 goals 37 points in 66 games could get a lot of money from an arbitrator.

EDIT: On the other side, it could be a test of how vicious Hughes can be vs his old friends.
