Ref (TJ Luxmore) nearly slices Lundqvist's hand off (with bizarre positioning)

Wow, these refs just keep getting better. I can't imagine there is any point in ref training where being in the crease let alone holding yourself up on the crossbar is taught as a proper place to be during play.

Typical rangers always trying to block shots

(Didn't read whole thread somebody probably already made the joke but just in case someone didn't)

It wasn't shown in the video in the thread (although you can kind of see it at 27 seconds), but the clip NBCSN showed, you could read his lips and he said "I was looking for the puck." So that was his reasoning. :dunno:

I think we have all seen refs get up on the net from behind to search, but to get in the crease in the middle of all the action? Ridiculous.

Yeah as bad as this is, thank god we don't have anything close to NFL refs as officials.

Absolutely. Just be happy you don't have NFL or NBA refs is right. NHL officials are right up there with MLB Umpires as far as officials go in being good.

That ref has negative situational awareness. Why would you skate full speed AROUND the net, stand right inside the crease trying to find the puck, and hold onto the net. I wonder what was going on through his head... "Hmm, I can't see the puck, it might still be alive, better get a closer view by standing in the crease... o ****, it popped out and i'm in it's way, jump!"

No idea what he's doing in the NHL.
