Ref (TJ Luxmore) nearly slices Lundqvist's hand off (with bizarre positioning)

If the puck touches the ref it must be disallowed, right? The only time a ref isn't "in play" is if it goes directly off them and into the net iirc. That's gotta be the worst positioning and the stupidest move I've ever seen. That ref needs to be immediately referred to classes or suspended. Who the hell jumps up over an active play, especially a goalie who can change position and end up under your feet in an instant. I still can vividly remember Malarchuk getting a skate to the neck and the pool of blood, Jesus these refs need to be talked to after this season. I don't know if they need training, a demotion, or they just need to stick one of them in the press box with a headset to call down. There's not enough room as it is without them actively making stupid decisions.

Get behind the net, you imbecile! The referee in question is a rookie, T.J. Luxmore.

Of his ankle went up the Blocker instead of down this could have been extremely bad. How do you tell the Rangers you're sorry for taking out their best player and goalie right before the playoffs?

I've never seen that in my life.

-edit-

Okay, he's a rookie, I'll let it slide. We got guys with years of experience doing even dumber ****.

And he'll ref again tomorrow night. And get paid for it.

And the cycle will continue..

Eh, I doubt he'll make this same mistake again.

Refs aren't perfect, would you prefer somebody get fired every time they make a mistake? It's a fast game, they're humans, this **** will always happen.

Don't see any reason why a ref should ever be in the crease. Get behind the net, if you can't see it then blow the play dead. Almost prevented a goal and then almost ended a star's season.
