Yeah I know you get the one winter outfit, but if we want anything else I think we have to hunt for it.

Has anyone played online yet? Seems like some gripes already. I really really really dont want it to be just an online experience where people just go around trying to kill you. I'd rather just do some missions with friends and whatnot.
 
RDR2 Online beta sounds enticing. Don't get why people dislike online play so much. You know Rockstar was always going to dive in after GTA Online and it's rapid success

A brief google search from non-Polygon (site is banned here) sites say that they probably will have Red Dead Battle Royale which is like Fortnite or PUBG. That should be pretty interesting. 32 players.

I never played GTA online or even remember RDR online much, but the complaints I read feel like they're legit, but then again, its just a beta.

People are saying they cant even ride to a mission to start it because they just get killed on the way. As a very rare online player that would annoy me. Hopefully they have private servers so you can just play with friends or with people who don't want to run around killing people while not actually in a "deathmatch" mode.
 
5.7 GB update dropped this morning which I believe is entirely for the online beta (thought it would be bigger, but no). There are also bug fixes in this update including the characters disappearing from camp, gameplay lag, floating objects, and implementation for better horse AI.

The best thing about the online is actually the ability to make your own character. Here's a first look by IGN...
 
Just bought this, and am beyond excited to get started. I don't want to read into the ending and spoil myself or anything, but I've been told not to try and get the white Arabian horse until after I complete the main story, due to something to do with the ending. Does that seem accurate at all?

Absolutely yes that is accurate. However, you can buy an Arabian horse in one of the city's after the game finishes so it's obviously up to you. And also yes, the Arabian horses do make quite the difference in travel and after Chapter II the game really opens up where I would recommend the Arabian horse.

Another recommendation I can give is upgrade your own personal camp right away and as high as it will go, since you'll unlock the fast travel feature from it (immensely helpful). Also if you're going for achievements, get everybody's personal items done before Chapter IV.

Wait im confused. I'm early in Chapter 4 & was thinking about going after the White Arabian. Are you recommending to hold off until done with the main story or no?

Interesting. Just installed update and now the audio is kind of crappy cutting in and out when in town and there is alot going on around you and the horse control is less fluid now. Oh well. Minor gripes. Can't wait to try online
 
Hate to disagree, but I say go for the White Arabian right away (I got mine in Chapter 2). Its a long game so having a super fast horse will help make the game more fun

Mine died after falling off a cliff (RIP) and I bought another Black Arabian which was just as good in Chapter 4. That one died too but I bought another

So I say f*** it just go get the horse. I loved mine and was distraught when I fell off the cliff :(

is there a big difference between the white or black Arabian? I have the black as it was an easy purchase and have not taken the time to search for the white one.
 
I don’t know how some of you finished the game so fast. Just got it Chapter 5.

I knew Hosea would get it eventually but it still hurt. f*** Micah.
 
I bought the black Arabian and am using it now but I like my shire more. I think I’m gonna switch back. I need to tower over all the peasants.
 
Doesn't the white arabian re-spawn? I never managed to break it lol. Anyway I think you'd want the horse while riding around doing missions..

Yes, it re-spawns. Even if you ride it and it dies it respawns. (Not sure if it will spawn another one while the original is still alive, though).
 
On chapter 6 now....

im so sad that Arthur has tuberculosis! I legit feel bad making him run and do stuff now.
