I'm not surprised he's outscoring Kylington, he is almost a year older. I really like him as a prospect but I think Kylington is a better prospect.

Those two are definitely our two best D prospects, followed by Kulak and AOM.

Meh, after watching Kulak again this year, to me he's moved past Kylington. I see Brett Kulak as a virtual lock to be a top 4 D. Kylington has huge questions about him still IMO.

1. Andersson
2. Kulak
3. Kylington
4. Hickey
5. Fox/AOM/Spoon

I just love how we accrued so many high quality defensive prospects without spending a first.

I still like him better than Kylington.

I agree. He's way more polished and poised then Kylington. His hockey IQ is elite. I can see why other people like Kylington and I love OK's potential. But I really like Rasmus' chances to be a top 4 D in the NHL.

Really? Not Wotherspoon, Hickey or even Fox?

Hickey has all the tools but I do doubt his decision-making under pressure. If AOM gets his skating up to NHL average level he will be a shut down D in the vein of what we want Jokipakka to be.

Wotherspoon is not in the conversation as he is vanilla in every regard (I prefer Falkovsky, Culkin) and Fox is probably fifth or sixth with Hickey in my eyes simply due to being such a niche player but I love his ceiling.

12 pts in his first 16 games in the AHL. This guy has been criminally underrated as a prospect and I think he needs more recognition for how well he's been playing in his first year as a pro. Would be shocked if he wasn't in the NHL next year.

Entirely possible. Sounds like his mom is flying in from Sweden. Likely will only play of both Hamilton and Stone are out though as it was an emergency recall so he can only play if Wideman is in as well.

Flames also have the option of changing his emergency recall into a regular recall, and use up one of their 4 recalls left.

I don't think they do it if Hamilton plays. I think they just recalled him 'just in case' Hamilton isn't good to go.

Called up to fill in for Hamonic on IR.

Here's hoping he plays a game or two.

Thought I would bump this to ask a question. How far off is Andersson from the NHL? How is his season progressing?

Calgary just doesn't really have room for him. Gio-Hamilton, Brodie-Hamonic, and Stone. I don't think playing him in a bottom pairing role is suited to his game. We have to make room at some point.

NHL ready.
He could play a sheltered bottom pair role today if Calgary had the room.

No room in the NHL, so let him stew; he’s still a baby.

I agree, if he’s not dealt this deadline then I think Stone goes in the off-season to make room for Andersson. He’s got excellent upside and is ready now.

Rasmus Deserves a thread bump.
Still a rookie, promoted to the top pair last night for Calgary. Had himself a tremendous game when all was said and done. Guy has moved from:
6D, to 5D, to middle pair D, to playing with Mark Giordano over a 5 game period.

Fair to say he's bumped Stone already. It'll be interesting when Hamonic gets back. I think Stone is going to be sitting.

His offensive pinches on the blue line and in transition are fantastic. Needs to move his feet a bit more in the defensive zone though.

Brodie demoted. Andersson to the top pairing.

Says more about Brodie than Andersson but still a huge game for him.
