Got voted to the WC All star team as the best d-man in the tournament. Quite an accomplishment even if it's not a best on best tournament.

Also one really underrated part about him is his experience in meaningful mens league games. He has been to two finals and a medal round at the WC. Not many players have that kind of experience early on against men, especially not playing such a big role.

Most impressive thing about his trajectory so far is his ability to excel seemingly anywhere, playing in different environments, different roles.

2018-19:
- DEL champion & Rookie-of-the-year
- WJC (B) captain and 7 Points in 5 games
- WHC as undrafted 18 year old and 2 goals in 5 games

2019-20:
- Strong AHL rookie season with nearly 0.5PPG
- WJC (A) captain and 6 Points in 7 games

2020-21:
- SHL championship runner-up
- SHL best defenceman & eliteprospect awards
- WHC 2021 best defenceman & all-star team

Hes got about as impressive of a junior resume as you can have before making your NHL debut. Nothing else for him to do except come in and do it against the best in the world. Without a doubt the top prospect in the world after this season. Probably the best player not in the NHL as well

Most impressive for me is his ability to make or break real impact plays with subtle moves and passes that barely catch the eye on first sight. When you look closer though it is amazing.

Yeah, even though the competition at D wasn’t overly strong, still super impressive for him to win top dman of the tourney at 20. And there were some good NHL dmen there - Provorov, Hronek, Gavrikov, Stecher, Hajek, etc. Not to mention some other top youngsters like Owen Power and Braden Schneider. Seider really stood out in a good way.

Averaging about 21:30 per game so far, playing all situations.
Some mistakes, mainly on the PK, but still looks great for a kid with zero NHL experience.

I know; just busting some balls; Seider will be fine, Welcome to the NHL moment for sure.
Yup. NHL players are bigger, stronger, faster, and far more skilled (tougher, more determined, etc) than Seider has played against in his domestic league. He will learn, or ...

Imagine getting dangled like that by a 40-goal scorer in the pre-season game.. I don't know how will he ever live down this shame.

I'd agree with sending him to Toledo but trading him before it's too late for a bag of used pucks sounds like a solid option as well.

Listen, anytime an NHL dman gets walked, it's embarrassing. That said, it happens to all of them once in a while. Even Lidstrom got walked at times. The key is that it doesn't happen often, and I don't think it will happen often with Seider.

It is still worth posting the video of it happening, however, to remind everyone that Seider is still young and won't seamlessly transition to the NHL. He will make mistakes and take some time to figure out NHL speed, etc. I'm supremely confident he will be just fine.

What 40-goal scorer?!? According to HF Boards Laine will never score more than 10 again ;)
