Just hand him a couple Norris' now, he's already playing like Erik karlsson.
You’re right. He got walked by a talented player in his first pre-season. Trade him for a 7th while GMs still think he has value.I thought he was supposed to be the second coming of jesus defensively; Laine now owns Seider.
Seider doesn’t take the body, he’s never thrown a hit in his lifeHoly shit that kid got absolutely schooled. Gonna have to learn to use the body
He's worked on his shot a lot during his offseason and it really shows. He's so much more comfortable shooting the puck now than in the past. He was excellent tonight I thought and it shouldn't take him too long to adjust to the NHL.Surprised by how many shots seider has taken this pre-season. Was expecting 1 or 2 a game for most of his rookie year. But so far in pre-season he's been getting quite a few.
There were offsetting penalties I believe.Undisciplined play from Mo here. Gets penalized and I believe Tampa ended up scoring on the PP.
You are correct - just checked the game sheet. My mistake. There were offsetting penalties I believe.

Eh thats what happens in hockey, you get assists off of nothing plays but then don’t get assists when you have the breakout pass that starts it all. In the end it all evens out. And I disagree I think he stood out a ton, on the powerplay on defense he was very good and rarely made a mistake. He joined the rush and he was a physical presence. His assists were kind of nothingburgers, but it was a solid debut. 2 assists, +1, 3 hits, and 3rd on the team in TOI. He was less noticeable than the stats suggest, but still, a good 1st game.
That's how pretty much all of his assists come. He doesn't make a lot of incredibly dangerous passes, but he's excellent at moving the puck to open teammates, and does it constantly. His assists were kind of nothingburgers, but it was a solid debut. 2 assists, +1, 3 hits, and 3rd on the team in TOI. He had over 20 minutes of ice time, 2 assists, and a +1 in a loss against the defending cup champions. I would qualify that as excellent for an NHL debut. From my POV he was OK, didn't stand out for good or bad which is a good sign for a rookie d-man
He seems to have intentionally dialed back the physicality a bit. Id expect him to ramp that up as he acquaints himself to the league. Maybe the team asked him to take it easy for now to preserve his body a bit, or focus on defending without relying on his physical play? Weve seen him lay waste to large men in the AHL, SHL, and international tournaments at this point, so its not like he isnt capable of it.
If I have any understanding of Jeff Blashill's philosophy, and I think I do, the message he would send to Mo is to not go out and chase physicality. Being physical is a wonderful thing if it doesn't take you out of the play. When the opportunity is there to lay someone out and not take yourself out of the play, take it. Otherwise, play calculated defense because it's the best attribute he can bring.
