after the SHL season most likely
Depends on how far Rogle goes in the playoffs. I'm caught between wanting him to continue building confidence in the SHL with a long playoffs or getting his feet wet in the NHL on our awful squad. He's definitely ready but the NHL is on a whole other level than anything he's experienced before.

When's that over?

Rogle has 5 games left in the regular season.

3/9 vs. Oskarshamn
3/11 vs. Linkoping
3/13 vs. Vaxjo
3/20 vs. Malmo
3/25 vs. Leksand

I'm not sure when the postseason starts exactly, but Rogle is one of the top 3 teams in the league, even without Nils Hoglander. They could be playing through May.

In those highlights he does look almost reluctant to shoot though. Kind of weird when you see a giant of a D-man at the blue line as you'd expect that guy to have a hell of a slapshot.

Probably because he doesn’t have a hell of a shot. It’s probably the weakest part of his game. Maybe the only weak spot. His shot is kind of a muffin right now. I’m sure some will argue this but I’ve yet to see him shoot hard.

count bettman robbed us at the ' behind closed doors ' draft (how the hell that goes on is beyond me) . then covid messed up pre draft scouting . ands still messing up scouting for this summers draft . but the dear hockey gods still sent us our next hall of famer , and luckily the captain (thank you jaques demers) came back and was sharp enough to be able to pick him earlier in the draft than everybody else thought ...

It's been mentioned before but he is more the type to shoot for a rebound/deflection or set up others to shoot. I think adding a stronger slapshot to his offensive repertoire will be a priority for him in coming years though.

everyone knows he can’t run a PP. stop changing the narrative with proof
Totally disagree. I see Pietrangelo in his game. Won't be flashy but is calm and controlled on the PP. However the comments elsewhere on the point shooting are somewhat valid. He needs to be more aggressive in this aspect.

Id be fine with him not playing this year but I think im alone in that thought process.

Next season, 2021-22 he should be up full time. He's ready to play this year and probably would be if not for the SHL rules that keep him there all year. I'm personally really happy he isn't because we're able to see him improve his offensive game, and it also keeps him faaaaar away from that idiot coach Blashill.

My main concern is his shoulder, he has had a few soft tissue injuries in a short period. Plus our team is still a dumpster fire so why not give him the full off season to rehab the shoulder, gain some strength and break into the NHL with a full and proper NHL camp, with hopefully a more complimentary roster.

Inb4 Trashill is brough back for another crack at it because Stevie is still searching for a coach of the future.

If it helps us get Wright or Lambert, I won't complain... too much. I'll still seethe, but that was going to happen anyway.

We don't need to be historically bad to get a top 3 pick. Toronto had Babcock at the helm of a rebuilding squad the year they drafted Austin Matthews. They were last in the league but still played respectably and you could see growth from the team.

This is true, but I'm setting my expectations to be as low as possible for the next few years.

Seider is a guy who can move the needle but Seider alone isn't enough to pull us out of the basement. But I don't think that's a good excuse to keep him out of the NHL.

I don't expect us to compete next season, or even within the next 4. But if we don't make actual improvements starting this offseason then we're officially in 1970'sDead Things or current Buffalo Sabres territory. That is not acceptable.

As long as he doesn't play over 7 games in Detroit, then let him play. Just don't burn a year of elc pls.
