Without reading more into the story that's why I assumed he was cut as well. He's been exposed in the SHL this year and hasn't been helped much by his team. It doesn't help the kid that Malmo's best forward is Joe Veleno and the team's goaltending ECHL caliber.
Best forward is Veleno? How come he has 2 times less points that Westerholm brothers then?

Yes. They also mean a lot. And when one of your forward has 9 pts and another has 19 there should be some serious reasoning behind the statment that Veleno is the best.

The broke ass version of the Sedins have only been scoring more as of late. Veleno has been given a lot of the tough assignments on the ice, is winning north of 60% of his faceoffs and one of the few players carrying the play for Malmo. He's also not on the same line as the Westerholms.

48.48% is north of 60%? Veleno's best play has been on Händemark's wing, too, who you can very much argue has been the better forward of the two, bad news for Veleno as Händemark has now left for the NHL camp.

Anyway, as for Grans, as this is a Grans thread and not a Veleno thread; An interview from the 11th: Meet Swedish Right-Handed Defenseman Helge Grans

I just saw the drop in percentage. He was around 70% in faceoffs the first 10 games.

Joe Veleno:

46.75% Corsi (7th amongst fwds)
0.5 P/GP (4th amongst fwds)

He has been pretty darn good.

But the Westerholms (at 54% and 51% corsi with their points too) and Händemark have been better...

Grans should have been on the WJC team though regardless of Malmö's play. He is at worst the 6th best Dman available.

And how is he looking? Have you been following him? How do you feel about his season so far?
He hasn't played in around 3 weeks due to Covid cases on the team, from the little I've seen he plays well when not paired with O.Lauridsen(which he sadly seems to have been for the most part).

Still has ways to go with his strength(which is something that should be fixed over time, considering his body), and defensive play. But if I'm the Kings I'm very happy with how his offense has progressed, should have made the WJC team and played PP1.

Please feel free to post updates on him if you can. Here and/or the Kings message board. Much appreciated.

Grans is too young to give up on. Obviously the CSB rating was bananas after he had a bad 5 Nations but he’s a contributor for Ontario. Def not a liability. You’re just not getting full-game domination. He’s a safe player with a big shot. Still has upside.

Edit: When I say safe I mean clean. He’s still active in the ozone.
