played his 1st SHL game this season.
Did anyone catch it?
Curious to know how well he played
He played well, he always plays well for Malmö though, should move his way up the lineup throughout the season.

This kid has me puzzled. To me he’s a project that could make your scouting staff look genius if he develops into what we think he may. Taken to early he may cost scouts their job if he busts. I like him. As a Kings fan with 3 2nd round picks I hope he is there and we take the chance. I also could see a team taking him mid first if they believe in him. Every draft there’s a few prospects that you keep track of no matter what team they go to. This is one of the kids this year that I will be following for the next half dozen years no matter what team he goes to. I hope the kids plays up to his potential.
Yeah, it'll be fun to see where in the draft he goes, and also who drafts him if he does go in the first.

Interesting how highly rated he is in Sweden in comparison to abroad. Swedish tv experts have said he should be a surefire, no doubt top 10 pick ( which does not look likely). Statistically though, he is not really doing worse than many recent lottery picks from Sweden, like Broberg, Söderström and Boqvist. Not sure if he shows the upside of the mentioned players but he could drafted way too low, as many swedes this year look like they could be. This year is a much stronger draft for Sweden than last year but the rankings do not fully reflect that.

Interesting. I think guys like him, Wallinder, Jurmo have a lot of potential. GM's love speed and size. I think there might be a feeding frenzy on these types( include Barron) in the late first round. You can only have so many small shifty wingers on your team.

Grans looks very promising overall, bit of a rough defensive moment here though.

If there's one thing I trust our development team to be able to pull off, it's working on that.

Kept his point streak alive today too, keep it rolling kid!

I don't know, man. I think you guys should just give up on him already. Only 1 point today? Looking like a bust.

I'll tell you what, Wings would take him off your hands for Cholowski as a favor. :naughty:

A little bummed to see him cut from WJC roster.

Not a good enough camp? Or was the other D just that darn good?

Most of us who follow prospects were surprised based on what we knew going on. No tv or streaming for anything from camp and really no reports or quotes either. One has to assume he was pretty bad to lose out on a spot, even if there are other PP options that would be preferred no matter what.

Has been somewhat shaky defensively this year.

.

Without reading more into the story that's why I assumed he was cut as well. He's been exposed in the SHL this year and hasn't been helped much by his team. It doesn't help the kid that Malmo's best forward is Joe Veleno and the team's goaltending ECHL caliber.

Thank you! That was my assumption, that the other camp D had just been steadier and whatever flashes Grans had weren't worth some of his lapses. Hope he takes it as something to learn from, and didn't even strike me that he'd have another year of eligibility too, which I would assume plays in

Noghing to do with how his camp went.

Sweden junior teams loves roles. He was cut because he's not perceived as a shutdown defenseman(but some other dmen, according to the Swedish staff, are).
