People really didn't read into what I said the right way. What I'm implying is that a fanbase can quickly change their tone once a player is traded out of town, that was all.
You weren't implying a generality. You were explicitly stating that the Flames fanbase had changed their minds about Fox after he was traded, which is wholly inaccurate on HFBoards. If you meant to say something else then you chose the wrong words to convey your thoughts.

Are Canes fans confident he will sign with them? Considering he's in his 4th year being a UFA must be enticing to him.

to answer the question, fox has been clear in his intentions to sign and play professionally as soon as possible since coming to carolina. the level of comfort people have believing him when he says that is dependent upon their interpretation of his sincerity. calgary fans may be skeptical and carolina fans more confident, but it's truly rare to see a prospect traded in a situation like this and not sign with the team that ultimately ends up with their rights. carolina had a similar situation with jack johnson. there was never an explicit trade demand, but everything behind the scenes was incredibly transparent. to my understanding of fox's situation in calgary, it was very similar. never an outright demand to be moved, but enough smoke to convince calgary it was a long shot. carolina traded johnson to the kings, where he promptly signed. fox has a close relationship with michigan product and former carolina 2nd round pick luke martin, which is believed to be an important piece of leverage. additionally, he's playing with another 2nd round pick in jack drury at harvard who is a carolina pick as well. there are a lot of circumstantial connections, but none stronger than fox's comments at the outset of the season that he'd be willing to sign and play as soon as possible. my assumption is that carolina will sign him after the conclusion of his season at harvard and attempt to burn a year of his elc as a negotiation strategy and incentive to sign. carolina is the only team that can offer him that at present.

10pts in 4 games. I’d say he’s off to a great start. It will he interesting to see what he does at the end of this season. He will definitely be highly sought after if he doesn’t sign with Carolina.

Is he dominating in these games so far? Or is he just more/less a PP specialist type thing? Always intrigued by this guy to see what stats he puts up but havent really seen him play.

Good NHL potential?

I tracked Fox since Calgary drafted him. He does have that 'something special' in him. To those that say his ceiling is only a PPQB are flat-out wrong. Want to see how well he has been developing? Watch his first WJC and then watch his 2nd. Night and day with how good he was defensively. Huge strides.

He is slightly undersized and needed to put on some weight and work on his skating a bit more, but he was becoming a much better player, hence increased talk about him since the draft. I bet he becomes a top 4 NHL defencemen along with being the team's PPQB. I am not sure if he will become 'top pairing' good - he will need to become a bit faster and stronger IMO to handle the tougher assignments - but I think it is a safe bet to proclaim him as a future top 4 defencemen who will probably lead your defence in points without being terrible in his own end either.

When I saw him play at the WJC, I immediately thought of Shattenkirk. High hockey IQ, playmaker type from the backend that lacks great skating. I think he should be a safe bet to be at least a PP specialist.
