They should have that Tire sponsor Goog Year to have a good year.
Then have the logo Tylenol on the helmet and Viagra at the mid-body.
Voltarin at the knees and elbows, Robaxin on the lower back, etc.

...that's for the Leafs' jersey...pain meds that expire in Late May, just like the Leafs do...or Maple Leaf Bologna, best before May 2023...:laugh:

I'm somewhere in between "hate it" and "I'll get over it". The ad is only in-game jerseys and not on the jerseys we purchase (option available though for you RBC lovers), but at the same time I'll hate to see our players with an RBC logo tainting our iconic jersey. Molson doesn't need this extra cash, he just wants it out of greed.



Yeah, that guy clearly doesn't work in marketing/branding lol.

I'm sure the last thing RBC wants is a subtle ad, they want something eye popping.

It calls into question why bother being a fan of a corporate advert. If the team abandons its role as an icon, there's not much left to be a fan of. I'd rather watch college, juniors, international play, the new PHF franchise than the RBC Lion-Cartographers.

So I'm not a rioting type, but I would say my reaction could not be more severe.

That said, I'm not inclined to become an Edmonton fan, because being a fan of a decent team vs. a sea of corporate mascots is still not a fun experience. I'm more inclined to stop watching NHL ad-games altogether.

It's ugly, I don't like it.....but I don't care either. It's sports, it's entertainment., it's a business.
Always has been, but in 2022, it's even more true than ever.

I like the sport....I don't care what they wear.

Great PR move, Geoff. On par with the infamous "fan experience" PC.

@roy munson should do a remake of the shoe-thrown-to-bush gif and replace Bergevin with Molson. Have Chantale on his left instead. I have a major need for a fix with that gif. Make it happen, Roy, pretty please. If not for our great pleasure, do it for our sanity.
Even if Geoff's family owns Canadiens it doesn't mean they are Canadiens. Canadiens is about the community and it's deep-rooted in the story and history of Quebec. La Sainte Flanelle is more than a jersey, it's a symbol and an iconic artefact. It represents the struggles on ice and in community - an inseparable part of French Canadian identity.

Owning Canadiens means you're a billionaire. Owner of a well-oiled money printing machine. This is greed at its purest. f*** tradition, history, identity and community, when Geoff wants some pocket money.

Childhood attachement, history, birthplace of pro hockey, home of legends.

Personally, I'm exceedingly tired of branding everything. Too much is like too little. The logo and shirt is an extention of all the history behind creating pro hockey, so I've always liked it because to me it represents a good deal of that rich history. Excessive branding cheapens this.

I'm a homer....but I also watch ton of hockey not involving the Habs all the time and follow the whole NHL,, not only the Habs.

And what's the connection between all of that and the players jumping on the ice in 2022?

For me, it's the jersey. Franchise has been sold, changed barns, management, players, everything. The continuity is that jersey. That's what belongs to the community. That's why it matters.
