There’s nothing more in the hockey world that I want more than Henke to raise the Cup.Same.
I had tears at the Richter jersey retirement. My childhood hero.
Hank’s night will be very special. Imagine it if he wins the cup?
Ok, I’ll stop dreaming now.
It would be nice for both to get their numbers retired. Just a shame they've both been gone for a while now. I'm happy they just did Jean, and now Vic before its the same for them. I just really hope Park gets the sameThoughts on
Thoughts on Boucher and cook?
They should both be retired. As much as we like Graves, they were better at the time.Thoughts on

Rod Gilbert seems like he'd be an awesome dude to grab a beer with.
Watching this just makes me realize how much of a wreck I’m gonna be when I bring my kids to Henrik Lundqvist retirement night in the future
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for this rebuild and I think it's gotten off to a positive start, but in the back of my mind, it absolutely crushes me to think about the fact that the cup window for Hank has almost certainly been slammed shut. It's a damn shame that we weren't able deliver. One of the greatest goalies in the history of the game will in all likelihood be cupless. As a non-Swede, I rooted like hell for them in Torino, so I guess there'll always be that. There’s nothing more in the hockey world that I want more than Henke to raise the Cup.
Vic Hadfield had a pretty decent career. One great year. The rest was about average to slightly above average. Maybe the Rangers standards have changed for number retirement. Kind of odd.
Not to derail this thread or cause a shit storm, but personally, I didn't feel Graves was deserving of a jersey retirement given the Rangers' previous standards. Having met the guy, though, I certainly don't begrudge him the honor. One of the genuine good guys and the nicest person you could ever hope to meet.I've disagreed with other guys they have retired #s for as well.
They're doing it to have the entire GAG line together in the rafters which is something I can get behindVic Hadfield had a pretty decent career. One great year. The rest was about average to slightly above average. Maybe the Rangers standards have changed for number retirement. Kind of odd.
So did I! Plus I kept a scrap book of the Daily News, New York Post and the Rockland Journal.Pretty sure I still have them on VHS, I recorded every game back then, and when they won, I kept the ECF, SC, and Parade. LOL

It's been on since 6PM on MSG.I'm confused...is the ceremony not being televised ?!?!
I think it was the right thing to do the whole lineVic Hadfield had a pretty decent career. One great year. The rest was about average to slightly above average. Maybe the Rangers standards have changed for number retirement. Kind of odd.
Hadfield I think gets his # retired because it's already in the rafters for Messier. This way they can honour a good guy and good Ranger without having to take another number out of rotation. I'm not sure we'd see the retirement if Mess wasn't up there.
Park needs his number retired after this
Met him 2 different times.......once opposite the garden just walking right on by me......I freaked, turned around, approached him from behind, introduced myself told him how great he was and asked him for his autograph that ended up on my pack of cigarettes (thank God he had a pen!)Had the honor to do coffee and bagel w/him 2x.
Totally classy guy.
Let's retire all the numbers twice!
1: Giacomin & Worsley
2: Leetch & Park
3: Howell & Patrick
7: Gilbert & ... eh, no clue LOL
9: Graves & Bathgate
11: Messier & Hadfield
19: Ratelle & Fast
35: Richter & DeBlois
But I will say that Brad Park should be up there before Hadfeild.
If Bobby Orr didn't exist, he's a seven time Norris winner.
