But I was including all the other games too? All 54 to this date. He'd still be leading your team in scoring by 9

Nope, that was was definitely all him. How'd he do the season after that? The season before? Are you starting to see why Canes fans are saying he has consistency issues?

2/3 most recent seasons he's the Canes leading scorer lol. Bit silly to suggest he's inconsistent, and if he is, who the hell isn't on your team? It's a meme at this point right? Off year, On year, Off year. What's Aho's excuse?

No... but that also wasn't him scoring at over a point per game clip which he is this season. Again, that's much more in line with his other seasons than this year. Aho also had a slightly better PPG with a lot more goals scored than Necas but he missed a handful of games.

You are once again trying to make it out to seem like Canes fans think Necas is terrible or something. He's a historically streaky player. Even in his higher producing seasons he's still streaky. That was the point. What we are seeing this year from him production wise, he hasn't played at that level for any kind of consistency in his entire career. Even IN this season he's been streaky. Going from incredibly hot for 20 games where he was pacing for like 115 points to then pacing for like 65 points for the next 30. That was the point but you clearly missed it like most things.

As mentioned, Aho had a higher PPG than Necas that season and more goals, he must missed some time due to injury. I guess that's his 'excuse'. He's been incredibly consistent over the course of his career. The fact that you're trying to argue contrary to that and saying Necas is some beacon of consistent production is laughable and an embarrassing take.

Do you actually understand the meaning of the word consistent and inconsistent?

I'm posting stats and asking questions because I'm not just going to take your guys' word for it and the logic presented seems rather inconsistent from some of you. It appears more like a narrative than anything useful or insightful.

The season after that he was played on PP2 to spread things out. His ES numbers really didn't change all that much - he had 4 less ES points in 5 less games. But his PP points dropped from 26 to 13.

I'm not going to speculate but demoting your 23 year old leading scorer to the 2nd unit is probably pretty uncommon. Especially when said player lapped the rest of the team's forwards in PP points. He had 26 of them, Svechnikov was 2nd with 16. I have to imagine it's unprecedented.

He was dropped to PP2. But this entire argument started because of the claim that Necas could carry his linemates. Which he would have to do on PP2, and as you pointed out, he was less successful in doing so.

As Tarheel said, a version of Necas that can carry a line long term is a version of Necas that we've yet to see in his career.

His PP time dropped by nearly half (especially when you consider how many of a PP2 player's shifts start with the puck behind your own net instead of with an OZ faceoff. His p/60 productivity didn't really change much, especially when you consider that context.
