Necas should be able to outscore Rantanen as he already scored more with lesser players with Carolina and Rantanen had a lot of empty net points which he won't get with Carolina.
My concern for the Avs is that Necas will prove to be even better player than Rantanen (which already seems to be the consensus among Avs fans) and then they have to pay him 12M+ and it'll hurt their depth going forward. Obviously you pay the man what he's worth as he can drive his own line unlike Rantanen but it's still a lot of money to tie up when you have MacKinnon and Makar making a lot of money.
