"Shit" might not be the exact word used. But garbage, lazy, sucks, etc... have been used and are not far off. I do that because I like to twist words a lot. :sarcasm:

Lazy is 100% applicable to Rants. If the dude had the work ethic of MacK, he'd probably lead the league in points yearly. Even being lazy he's an elite player, albeit a one dimensional one.

Poor man's Jagr. Early in Jagr's career he had some of these exact same labels place on him. Jagr was better, but the same sort of criticism was out there.

I mean I Mack is also relatively one dimensional. But no one hates on him nearly as much Mikko. I’m guessing because his style makes him look like he’s trying harder.

Which that’s not meant to be a dig at Mack at all. But if your dimension is putting up 100+ points chances are your mainly contributing offensively which is more than fine.

That’s why I think a great 2 way forward works best with 29 and 96. We know pre-injury, Lando with them was basically a three headed monster, then after Lando has his surgery, Nuke slotted in very nicely.

Yeah I've compared his game to Jagr's for a while now. Very similar players, if not comparable in terms of talent, they are in style, in both good and bad ways.

One thing to note just for fun though, Mikko has a very good one-timer, Jagr claims he didn't really even know how to do one until he went to Washington and watched Peter Bondra do it.

Personally I love the player despite his stretches that can leave fans extremely frustrated. He's still an elite talent without the motor.

One theory that I have about Mikko's "laziness" is he saves energy because he knows he has to play a shitload of minutes.

Rants is a very big guy and not as lean as Mack, big players like him that play tons of minutes don't play with the same energy as smaller guys.

Makar is on the small side, Mack is a freak...and Mikko is a 6'5 "normal" guy that plays as much as them.

Sparking up all those lung darts doesn't help much either.

He’s also not an efficient skater at all. Decent skater for his size for sure but the way he moves isn’t ideal for 24 minutes a night that’s for sure.
