My expectation is this is done in Sept or Oct just like MacK and Toews. Avs will want to get it done and not worry about it. With where the cap is going, upto 13.5 wouldn't be shocking... but I'd bet the Avs are targeting 11.5. I'd say market is around $13.25 (~14.25% of cap). On an 8 year deal, the traditional 'discount' the Avs have gotten is between .5-1m. That would point squarely to ~12.5m. IMO 12.25-12.5 is the realistic outlook for a discount. Rants wants to push it, $13m is probably as realistically as high as the Avs would go. Anything below $12m is a decent chunk under market.
