Yikes, some of these are massive overrates. I think the below is reasonable...

Sedin - 87 Sedin - 87 - Vrbata - 85
Burrows - 82 - Bonino - 83 - Kassian - 82
Higgins - 81 - Vey - 76 - Hansen - 80
Richardson - 77 - Matthias - 80 - Dorsett - 76

Hamhuis - 87 - Tanev - 82
Edler - 85 - Sbisa - 80
Stanton - 76 - Bieksa - 83

Miller - 86
Lack - 82

That said, how does one even do a realistic version of the Kings?

Gaborik (86) - Kopitar (90) - Brown (83)
Pearson (81) - Carter (87) - Toffoli (83)
King (78) - Stoll (80) - Williams (85)
Clifford (75) - Richards (83) - Lewis (79)

Doughty (91) - Muzzin (82)
Regher (78) - Voynov (84)
Martinez (79) - Greene (81)

Quick (90)
Jones (79)

That seems conservative and yet remains pretty terrifying.

Are Giodarno and Brodie that good? I mean I know they're top pairing D but 88 and 85? As for the rest, I mostly agree with you but like I said, my ratings aren't supposed to reflect last season's performance. I play a lot of Be a GM and local Season mode with friends, it's always nice to have high rated players in each teams so it is more balanced when it comes to trades. What truly impacts the game is mostly goaltenders' ratings anyway.

Brodie's pretty underrated; I'd have him 84 but that's minor. I think 88 is underrating Giordano, guy should probably have won the Norris last year, I have him 89. And I hate the Flames.

Anyway that guy's ratings are all by and large too high. How the Sedins are still 92 players in his world, on par with Tavares and Giroux, I do not understand. Milan Michalek at 87? Sam Gagner 86? Cmon now, let's not go nuts.

I would have to go like this for the Wild.

Parise(90)-Koivu(87)-Coyle(83)
Vanek(87)-Granlund(83)-Pominville(85)
Niederreiter(83)-Haula(81)-Zucker(80)
Cooke(80)-Brodziak(79)-Fontaine(79)

Suter(92)-Spurgeon(82)
Brodin(83)-Blum(79)
Scandella(80)-Folin(78)

Harding(86) with low durability
Kuemper (83)
Backstrom(80) also low durability
Bryz(82)

I like it other than the ratings for the younger players. I predict EA will keep Nino and Coyle at 81-82, Haula 78, Folin 72-74 and Fontaine 74-76. EA has bias for vets. Kuemper too I doubt will be more than 80.

No way Palat gets 4.5*. He doesn't have that kind of potential. Also think 85 is to high for him, and 84 is to high for Johnson. Both will be 83 I think.

Stamkos also wont go up after having an injury season. At best he stays a 92, could drop to a 91, with Tavares taking his spot at a 92.

No way Palat gets 4.5*. He doesn't have that kind of potential. Also think 85 is to high for him, and 84 is to high for Johnson. Both will be 83 I think.
I'll give you Johnson, but I don't see any problem with Palat's rating. He's already shown he can be a first line forward in the NHL, and was the Lightning's best forward this past season after Stamkos went down and finally being put in a scoring role. Even with some regression this season he'll be worthy of an 85 rating. Also, there's no way Johnson and Palat should be rated the same. Palat is the flat out better player.
Stamkos also wont go up after having an injury season. At best he stays a 92, could drop to a 91, with Tavares taking his spot at a 92.
I raised Stamkos because he's been considerably better defensively under Cooper, but if you keep him the same because of injury then I'd understand.

Also, I'm not really trying to predict what EA will do, it's more what I think the ratings should be. Palat and Johnson will probably both be 82 or something.

Palat does have that kind of potential, though, he has already shown that in AHL and in NHL. Will he be that? No one knows but EA gives 4.5's to guys much less deserving than Palat. And if we go by EA's logic, Palat being 85 and Johnson 84 is nothing but realistic; that's because of their two-way play since EA values defensive attributes a lot in the overall ratings.

No way that Tavares who missed 30+ games as well should be higher than Stamkos; Stamkos has shown enough so that his rating won't be dropped after one injury season. Tavares has shown nothing to be considered better than Stamkos.

Palat at 4.5 means he probably become a high 80 to low 90. I don't think he is that good to get that. him at 4*y or 4*green is more reasonable, he could top out at 86-88 which isn't bad.
