Well, I guess there was absolutely no market for this guy at all. I'd rather have kept him, even if he's a 7th/spare, and bought out Staal who is completely unmovable. Not a bad move, but the guy made the most of everything he had and gave everything he had. Hard to see him go out this way.

Yep. Many were getting antsy because Gorton had not done anything yet.

He knows what he is doing. I have a feeling we are in for a hell of a ride this off season and when its all said an done, most people will be very happy.

I actually felt sad for a minute when I first read the news. It had to be done though.

I guess I'll start praying for Staal to be traded. I will not feel bad if that happens. At least Dan tried hard.

Classy guy reliable stay at home Dman in his prime and gave everything he had for this team. Girardi definitely played for the name on the front not the one on his back. I wish the best for him and his family.

No, Staal is not movable -> NMC and he's terrible with a terrible contract. We're stuck with him.
