Just enjoy the team playing well. Nobody thought we were going to get the 2nd pick last year after finishing 6th. Chicago was 12th and picked 3rd. There are no guarantees and I'm enjoying the battle level of this team.
There are no guarantees, but percentages and odds do matter. And even if we don’t win the lottery, I still want us to be in a position to draft an impact player. Thing is, if Igor is good enough to lead this team to the playoffs or come close, he’s on his way to solidifying himself as an elite goalie. And sometimes goalies make the difference in the playoffs. I don’t know. Also prospects bust all the time so maybe I shouldn’t worry too much.

On the other hand does hank keep this game 3-1 or make those saves in overtime? All gonna come down to what teams offer for AG

I will take an .908 Hank over a .908 Georgiev any day of the week. Rangers would have to pay to even try to move lundqvist, Georgiev would at least bring some return.

It's pretty evident that Igor is legit, there's zero point in carrying a Fringe Starter (tm EASPORTS) goaltender when you can get assets in return for him (see: Talbot, Raanta)

I dont like fate.

Fate worked well last season. Buch tying a game late and Strome winning a game in OT at the end of the season slotted us for our lotto position.

Yes, the losses are a reason why you are in the spot eventually, but wherever we end up, I'd rather not tank and get what we get than tank games and continue a losing trend.

Winning games is important with how young this team is, even if the wins are being spurred on by our more veteran forwards.

Game tying goal for point 50 and GWG in the shootout for Mika, only 26 years old.

Trade him. He's going to want a big contract in a few years.

Panarin, Zibanejed, Buchnevich.

For those who hate +/- Panarin is a f***ing +28 after tonight. He was on the ice for all of our goals and put his shootout attempt away too. I was kind of expecting that to be taken away but thankfully not.

Zibanejad 50 points now in 43 games. Clutch goal with the goalie pulled. He's our best guy in the shootout.

Buchnevich also had a clutch goal and played a feisty game and had several good opportunities.

Alex fought his way through this one and came up big in the 3rd and the OT.

Good win.

Put us in any other division in the league and I think we have a 50/50 shot to make the playoffs. With the flyers having a real coach and the jackets performing miracles the metro is just ridiculous

As much as I didn't think this team would be good enough to make the playoffs, I'd have to agree with you on this. The Metro is simply too daunting a task for us this year but next year will be a different story.

So long as we play important March games which looks very likely to give the kids the experience of what it feels like to play intense almost "playoff like hockey games", even if we miss the playoffs which is very likely, this year would have to be considered a wild success.

Think about it other than Kravstsov and Lias not being here and maybe if you want to stretch, maybe Kakko not playing as well as we might have thought he'd play, pretty much every thing that we could have asked for in the 2nd year of the rebuild has occurred and no one should be dissapointed at all if we don't make the playoffs.

The Rangers need to find a center who can win a face off. Doesn’t have to be a star, but someone with some skill. This is one reason I was beating the drums for a Brian Boyle before he signed with Florida. You can’t chase the puck all night.

not always a big deal during regulation but man do you make 3 on 3 OT hard for yourself if you can't win a draw.

Anyone who thinks this win wasn’t big for this team just doesn’t get hockey. That means you.
Oh thank u sir! So very much for bestowing this upon me. I am unworthy.

This team is going to miss the playoffs.

AGAIN. And rightfully so because they’re in transition. They’re about 2/3 torn down... and about 1/3 built up.

We can keep building by signing UFAs for top dollar and maybe they (really him since we can only afford 1 more) will come as advertised like Bread.

Or, and hear me out here, we can build a team through the system by drafting high and often.

But u do you with ur “rah rah” Feb 13th win against a mediocre team on the cusp of their own rebuild as being an obelisk of achievement.

We need to lose more games. We can win games next year

Stop it...I'll make believe your kidding. Winning is ALWAYS better than no matter what the year. The kids are getting valuable experience which is the most important thing. And because of this winning of ours, we will be playing some pretty damn important games in March which is going to be fantastic for the kids development going forward.

So please stop it with the "we need to lose more games" stuff. Why so we could move up 1 or 2 slots in what looks to be a deep draft?

Like I said, I'm going to make believe you are just messing around and kidding!!

I’m starting to realize that Chytil’s development is one of the most critical parts of this rebuild. If he can become a 1b center or better in the next 1-3 years, and if Zibanejad stays this way for another 6 or so years before he starts to decline, that will be huge. There’s a decent chance of both those things happening.
