Some people really can’t let anything go without overcomplicating it. I’m not saying Gorton is a bad GM. All I’m saying is that if Gorton put Zucc on the block in the off-season, he would have gotten some offers. Isn’t that common sense? But more likely than not, he wanted to wait things out.

What over complication? You've heavily implied that Gorton has left good deals on the table for Zucc and Georgiev. I'm just wondering what you are basing this on

Scary how much I trust ADA and Fox making 2 feet passes under pressure on the line than Marc Staal with time and space standing still.

I don't think he got offers for Zucc in the offseason. See: Namestnikov, Vladimir.

It's an hfboards thing Gorton sat on his hands and turned down umpteen offers for Zucc that summer. Pure fantasy and wishcasting that the GM is dumb and we are so smart.
I never said Gorton is dumb? And I never said I’m smart. Huh? Where did you read that? I’m just saying Gorton waits too long. That’s his thing. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it bites you in the ass.

Chytil had that one good rush with the shot. Then he took a body check and now he looks disengaged. He is shying away. He was covering no one on that 2nd goal

I do wish people would stop presenting this as if it was fact.

As far as the other two are concerned, Hall is better than any player we have to offer and Zucker has 3 years left on his deal. Not to mention, the Wild have been trying to trade Zucker for over a year.
Don't let facts get in the way of the narrative that guys on a messageboard would make a better GM than [current GM of Team].

Wait..I've been posting and haven't really paid much attention to the actual game.

Has this moron of a coach put Trouba back on PP 1 yet?

Important intermission for David to make some large stylistic adjustments.

No.. It's more like JG waits until the very last second and is forced to take whatever he's offered.
Kreider should've been traded last year...
JG has crushed. Got like 200 cents on the dollar for like 13 games of Rick Nash. Got like 900 cents on the dollar for Ryan Spooner. 1 Dallas Stars playoff win from a 1st and a 2nd for Zucc. On and on.

I'm thoroughly convinced he has..

I’m saying that while Georgiev has some value, Gorton should have traded him. I never said he got a great offer for Georgiev. It’s hard to get full value for a goalie. However, if Georgiev begins to struggle, which is highly likely considering his age and inconsistency issues, we’re in trouble. So I would trade him while he still has pretty good value, even if the offers are average. Seriously. I would trade Georgiev for a 2nd and be very happy about it. But with the offers, there were rumors. With Zucc, I don’t know because I don’t think he was even on the block. But if he was, don’t you think at least one team would be willing to give up a 1st?

I mean, have you not noticed that Gorton waits until the last second in general? If it happens once or twice, ok. Maybe not his fault. But it’s a constant trend.

I think if there were legit offers being turned down the GMs would use Bob McKenzie and Dreger and LeBrun to spread the narrative he's hard to work with and it would be a known thing. I think GMs do very little in the way of player movement discussions at the high levels. We've seen evidence of this for decades. Outside of like, Phil Esposito I guess.

I'd happily trade him for that too, but I have no idea whether anyone was interested at that price...

Well that was fun...not!. Pretty fugly effort there that 1st period.

That flight all the way from Winnipeg over the border must have taken alot of the boys...eh?...lol

OK wipe the slate clean, come out with some oomph this period and we can take this one still.

Georgie tho better get his head out of his ass cause if there is any chance for a W here, he's going to need to come up big the rest of the way.

Crushed it all the way to the bottom of the league while adding some middle of the road prospects.
Hasn't had a 4th line since he's taken over.
Hires a coach who doesn't know what he's doing.
Great job!
Got it :thumbu:
