Rangers Watching Lundqvist for a Concussion (Experiencing Head/Neck Pain)

Anyone but me think Rangers offense scores more for Marty than hank most the time?

They seem to have better games with Biron. Which to me is concerning, because that means they don't give their full effort when Hank is. If they can play well offensively for Biron why are they slacking the rest of the time?

I'm the last person on this board to hit the panic button. Maybe behind Bob Richards.

I have the key in the safety lock. I haven't turned it, but it's sitting there...menacingly.

I'm confused. Why was this article only published yesterday and why has no one else reported Lundqvist saying he has not felt well or experiencing pain since the Girardi elbow?

On March 19, Lundqvist said he had headaches and his neck hurt after Dan Girardi's elbow inadvertently snapped the goaltender's head back in a 3-2 road win over the New Jersey Devils. On Sunday, Lundqvist was dazed from a slap shot off the mask by Capitals forward Mike Ribeiro in a 3-2 home shootout loss to Washington.

March 19th was 10 days ago. No reports since then until this article. Lundqvist looked like he sold that tap to draw a penalty more than it actually looked like a bad elbow. Is this article just looking for hits, or is there actually something wrong with Lundqvist? He certainly looked fine as of last night.

Why are people overreacting?

This team should try doing a better job clearing the crease. I hope mcilrath is developing quickly.

:shakehead This is a total disaster is Lundqvist is out for even a moderate period of time.

Here's to hitting a home run with one of our three third round picks. They say it's a deep draft... :dunno:

No Lundqvist no playoffs. I have no confidence in Biron at all,he just sucks.

The team actually has played better in front of Marty this year but no shot it can be consistent.

If Lundqvist is out for any length of time--it's time to start making deals IMO. This team might squeak into the playoffs with Biron even so--but that's a big gamble and Biron is definitely not taking us deep into the postseason.

I'd keep the d together more or less with McD, Girardi, MDZ and Staal and be hanging on to Nash, Stepan, Kreider, Miller, Callahan, Hagelin but anybody else would be trade fodder.

So, not a single player with value other than Gaborik?

What in the world are you talking about? The man has 500 appearances at the NHL level, is well above .500, .911 career save percentage.

There aren't many better or more credentialed backups. He took Philly to the Eastern conference finals in 07-08. And he held strong under some pretty brutal transitional sabres teams.

Henrik is great, and losing him would hurt us. But lets not act like Biron is a poor backup. He just looks poor when compared to the best goaltender in the league.

I imagine Stralman will have some value as well as the much maligned having a crap year Boyle. Likely Richards contract makes him untradeable. See no reason for blowing up the d or trading away the kids, Nash or Callahan. That's the real core. Admittedly it doesn't leave much but I wouldn't be looking for vets back either--more like prospects, draft picks.

I wouldn't say they play a lot better for Marty I think they play harder and a little tighter defensively knowing its not Hank bailing them out.

dude, def with you. i barely panic, but as you said...i'm with you on the key analogy

Everyone needs to calm down and just let this freak season play out. I'd like to see some changes in the bottom 6, a solid-ish 6th d added, and a solid LW added in the offseason. And wouldn't mind seeing Gabby go if he got a decent return (even assuming he goes back to his 40 goal season -- just don't like his game; he scores, but adds nothing else of value when he's not doing that).

If 20-30 games into next season they're still not rolling, then yes, hit that panic button. Mash that **** with your face.

If it is a concussion, or if the Rangers are moderately concerned that Hank is suffering concussion-like symptoms, wouldn't they have recalled a goalie from Hartford by now?

Can't worry about this, because if Hank is out for an extended amount of time it would be too horrible to imagine. I can't deal with that.
