Miller for Namestnikov was an AV move. That scares me. Horrible deal that looks like it was for the current coach

Not much is really different from the last game for the Rangers.

They can prey on vulnerable teams, but they don’t look good versus quality teams.

This isn't the case. I was anti-rebuild the whole time. I still am. Generally everyone has maintained their position. The poor poster quoted was just making a completely reasonable observation which didn't in any way compromise whatever their original position was.

True.

I also think we are in better shape at the start of our rebuild then most other teams that went full scorched earth.

For example when the Devils hired Shero as the official start of their rebuild (Lou was just dicking around his last few years, not rebuilding but not competing either) or compared to the Leafs when they drafted Nylander, the official start of their rebuild.

As I’ve said, I wouldn’t have moved Miller.

However, I think it’s incorrect to assume the Rangers sold low and settled on Namestnikov as the return. I get the sense that they think pretty highly of him.

Marc Staal appreciation post: he’s been through f***ing heaven and hell in his time here but he still goes out and tries his best to do what the coach tells him to. He has his faults but his stick work is still top notch
