Skjei is absolutely atrocious when he is gliding backwards but reaches forward to trying to spear the 50/50 puck away. It works 10% of the time and 90% of the time, he's just skating backward hyper extended with no control of his stick and momentum when the attacking player gets the puck. That's why that pairing is f***ing brutal in the defensive zone. There's no poise. There's no will to protect the zone. It's just pokes and prods and slow to reading the play and protecting the center of the ice. Every single game. What the jesus ludicolo's ass is Lindy Ruff doing? If he's only responsible for the development and defensive skills of the defensemen, I don't see any f***ing improvement.

In all seriousness, this is as engaged, smart, quick, decisive with the puck that I've seen from Kakko all season. In my eyes this is the best game Kakko has played in the NHL so far...he really looks good out there tonight.

Who knows maybe one of his Finnish friends is here on our board, told KK all the shit that was being said about him and he decided to give us a little tease of what it's going to be like going forward...lol

Whatever it is...I want to see more of tonight's Kakko!!

NHL really does need to change the offsides rule to breaking the plane. A lot of "offside" goals get taken away because their foot was off the ice but still on/before the blue line. Dumb.

Kakko looks great but you know if he makes any kind of error Quinn will bench him and we also know he’ll probably go right back to Buchnevich against Detroit cause he’s really earned it (not to mention he’s got great chem with Chytil but let’s keep ignoring that)

the idea of playoffs goes out the window tonight and I’m talking about for the fans. Worse it’s for the players. They’ll know it’s over. You come back and it’s like 3 weeks till the deadline. The trades will start.
