is Gropp a bust at this point?

I don't watch the Pack at all so I really can't speak to his abilities beyond observing point totals, but one would have to assume he's headed that way if he wasn't called up even once this season. Though we did mostly call up guys who could play center on the 4th and he doesn't seem to be able to do that. One more season should just about seal that deal, but I'd assume his only potential (again, without really knowing how he's used) could be as a 4th line grinder type winger if he's decent on the boards and PK. Maybe not with us, either. Regardless, nowhere near what he had expected but that's more common than the opposite.

They're also lined up to play Philadelphia, so we're guaranteed some sort of garbage in the second round.

Man, I love the NHL.

That's also the answer to "how the hell does this ****hole have 95 points?"

They also got many of those points during a 20-game PDO coke binge like Columbus last year.

They won 12 in a row and then 3 or 4 more after that IIRC?

Holtby and Price are the two most overrated hockey players I have ever heard of. Both of them, even if they combined, and morphed into one super goalie, still, they couldn’t ever dream of holding Hanks jockstrap.

I agree that neither one is Hank, but I do like Hotlby. This has been his only bad season.

14-15 was Price's only good season.

Besides, I thin Holtby has been hurt. He mysteriously disappeared recently.

I would probably rate 50 as the worst possible number.

Doesn't matter, they e earns his Tiger stripes if/when they makes the club next year.

Just like Dubi, Cally, etc.

I just have always felt that if ovechkin wasn’t there to smash teams every night Holtby just would have always been mediocre.

Always felt that if Hank was on MTL there would be statues of him already all across CAN.

I can't tell if this is saying Holtby has wins cause of Ovechkin, or wondering how the greatest goal scorer of all time (fire me) has 95 points.

Really looking forward to seeing Chytil and Andersson. Makes the rest of the season watchable.
I beg to differ in that it HASN'T been unwatchable until now. They've been more than watchable, in fact one could argue that they've been "better" since tdl. Whether that's because teams are taking us for granted or simply because the "kids" and newcomers have been much better than what we expected.....leading to wins. This team doesn't REALLY know how to lose, there are still way too many PRO's that don't take too kindly to losing.

But yes, L.A. and Chytil will be wonderful to watch, whether they play well or not. They are going to be a "big part" of the Rangers future. Hopefully.

Additionally, because of who's left, there are those that are stepping up into more prominent roles. What a shame. I guess the Kreids and Zbad's, the Hayes's and Vesey's were looking for guys like Nasher and Grabs to lead us towards victory, when all they had to do is what they are doing NOW!

Georgiev starts tonight.

How much do youse guys want to bet that if he is on the roster next season that at some point there will be a goaltending controversy regardless of who is the head coach?
I wouldn't bet against that. It's happened before. Regardless of what Hank has done in the past........if GG or anyone else is playing better and WINNING, they SHOULD play and Hank will be given a leash.......probably a long leash, but if the PO's are at stake (wouldn't be surprised if it was) then play the BEST option to win. Simple. Put in earplugs to not hear Hank complain. You know he will.

Holtby wins record being highly inflated because of the greatest pure goal scorer of all time (safe with me) is what I was referring to.

Rofl definitely the former

Ovechkin definitely is the GOAT and he has 81 points.

On another note.....did Chicago trade Panarin in due part to their "tanking" this season? I mean, what were they thinking?
Panarin is due for a raise and would get more than 6 mil (which is Saad’s cap hit) and the Hawks obviously have cap problems. Also, Toews and Kane both missed having Saad on the team, Hawks needed a change of scenery and they thought bringing Saad back would fuel some kind of thing, didn’t work

Forget the tanking, we aren't doing that. Let the chips fall where they may. I will be rooting HARD tonight, would love our Rangers making life rough for those Caps, like we always do. You know, that thorn. Lol

Hey New York Islanders! Listen. Last minute offer from the Rangers. You need a goaltender? You can have Gorgiev (who we think very highly of) for Taveras and your 2019 1st rounder. Your gonna lose him anyway. Take it or leave it.
