Honestly, this is just an extended practice for Washington. Part of games are sometimes the other team has the puck and skates circles around you and you need practice on switches, being in shooting lanes, rebounds, puck retrieval. This is a spot where they could easily work on this sort of thing with a real live team.

Vesey looks a lot better recently now that he can give and receive passes.
Makes me think he had some kind of hand injury for a lot of this season, because he wasn't even AHL level with his passing ability or puck control for most of the year.
