Post-Game Talk: Rangers vs. Canes | 3/18/13 | Who needs goals?

These are the types of wins that Islanders fans get excited over.

Nobody is saying it isn't two points, but if anybody can say that this win shows sign of the team turning it around, you're fooling yourself. 1 goal. AGAIN. If this team had been playing well consistently this season (And they haven't, in case you couldn't tell by the amount of times they've been dragged through the mud this week in major publications) then i'd say Ok it's 2 points. But if a lucky win instills confidence in you after the way they have been playing, up and down all season, then I don't know what to tell you.

We're not arguing with you, though. My problem is the guy who keeps saying "1 out of our last 5 means this doesn't mean anything" when we've won 6 out of our last 10.

Not good. The team isn't playing well. Everybody acknowledges that.

But to get 2 points after ******** the bed for the last 2 weeks is huge.

What I'm trying to say, thanks for making a better point.

Let's find a way to not be negative after a comeback victory ya?
Those that find reasons to be negative are afraid of hoping and disappointments.
Just ride it.

And stop with this "We've won 6 of our last 10" garbage. People use that tactic as an easy out. Their overall record shows they are barely above .500. 6 of their last 10 means nothing to me, because I don't look behind me, I look ahead.

If we can win our next 3 we will be in a very good place. Devils will be tough but Panthers/Caps should be doable.

I certainly hope the players act a little different than some fans.

"We won today, good job! Let's keep this up"

"For what? We still suck! Nah, why bother."

...What?! How can you say that when YOU'RE the one who is choosing to ignore the 4 game win streak we had right before we hit this rough spot?

Season is far from over. You're acting like it is.

Not the point at all.

If they came out and won 10-0, it still won't be any sign of a total turn around. If they came out and scored 100-0, it still won't be a sign of any kind of turn around and forging of a playoff ready team.

It's just one game. It's always meant to be 1 game. There's nothing that needs to be said except that it was a hard fought victory and look forward for more consistency. Pissing on this win because it's not the jesus of wins is kinda stupid if you ask me.

No, I'm acting like they still have A LOT to prove. And scoring 1 goal and winning in a shootout ain't proving anything.

Again, looking behind you, not in front. If the Rangers still can't score and miss the playoffs, are we gonna be reminiscing about that 4 game win streak?

Agreed. I just don't want to see them scratch and claw their way to the 8th seed for the rest of the year and then get knocked out in round 1 by Pitt, Boston, or Montreal. Not after last year.

Stepan has been the bomb this season and I wonder if Miller whiffed on the puck or faked it during the SO.

Right, we look forward to more consistency. Let's not give them the benefit of the doubt before that actually happens.

I thought MDZ was by far and away our best player tonight.

We need that D man who can be the catalyst. That's why I now give Staal a +1 over DG and McD. DZ carried it tonight better than anyone I've seen this year and was solid defensively as well.

#NYR Captain Ryan Callahan stressed importance of another good performance in NJ Tues: "Tonight means nothing if we don't back it up"

This is all I'm saying

I would absolutely kill to see DZ develop a consistent and purposeful bomb from the point.

It won't be easy after a 65+ contest tonight. I wonder if Henrik starts. I would have liked to see Marty start tonight and Henrik tomorrow night but with this win, it's even more of a question as to whether we play Henrik again.

This is what everyone is pretty much saying. Some greet it with more positivity than others, that's all.

They played well today, let's take it from there and move forward. Yes?

Sorry, i'm just not impressed when a team who struggles to score continues to...struggle to score.

Haha. What did i tell ya boys and girls. Go back and read. Rangers will beat Carolina and NJ. And move into a tie with hornless devils led by fatso, with a game on hand. LGR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Solid win. We needed a game like this. Hopefully this propels us to win tomorrow and we can pass the Devils up for 8th, and perhaps be tied for 6th (LOL). It's amazing how one win can have us looking up and going from bottom right back to where we were. But good win

My three stars: Hank, Step, Nash
Honorable mention: Gaborik, Callahan
