Re: the breakaway discussion... the average goalie in the NHL this year has a .682 SVP in the shootout. Lundqvist is 0.647, In some ways, shootouts are easier on goaltenders than breakaways as players aren't always coming in full speed. In others, they're harder on goaltenders because the player has a greater chance to think about what he will do. Either way, if the SVP in shootouts isn't even 7 of 10, why should we expect goalies to stop 9 out of 10 breakaways?
ok. But henrik has stopped like 1 breakaway this whole year. No one is saying that he should stop 9 out of 10. He should stop some. Would've had a couple more wins in the books, if he had.
