Confirmed with Link: Rangers trade Rupp to Wild for Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri

Flyers fan who was a big fan of Powe. He is a decent fighter for his size but he won't be able to replace the fighting aspect of Prust's game but he should be able to do everything else at a similar level. His hands are made of stone but besides that he is a solid penalty killer, good on the forecheck, and seems to be liked by his teammates.

Rupp connection with Minnesota is Wild coach Mike Yeo who was an assistant coach in Pitt when Rupp was there. Fletcher was part of Pitt front office before Rupp signed with Pitt. Fletcher probably asked Shero about Rupp.

Not so much the fighting as pect of Prusts & Rupps game, he will go from time to time, but he has thoughness both guys have & he replacea Prust's ability to kill pens & blocks shots with a little more speed.

Sounds like the biggest thing is now they can possibly roll all 4 lines. They were really avoiding playing that 4th line because they had so little speed and defensive ability. This may fix that. At least I hope it does. Would be really nice to have a 4th line with speed and energy that can forecheck and cause some chaos once in awhile.

Best trade so far this season. Man, we get Powe for Rupp. I will always remember Rupp for his 2 goals in the Winter Classic but besides that, not much worth remembering from his Rangers-career.

So then it's looking like these are our lines for the time being, until Cally and Kreids get back? ...

Gabby - Richie - Nash
Hags- Steps - Pyatt
Halpern - Powe - Boyle
Bickel - Ferriero - Asham

just a stab at it, I know I read that Torts liked Boyle on the wing too. and no way we can split up those top 2 lines like that after last game.

I think that the 4th line should see more ice time when everyone is healthy, but the main thing is going to be the 4th line with Halpern and Powe will be able to take a lot of PK shifts which will help take some stress off of Nash, Callahan, Hagelin, Stepan and Boyle.

Yea. Either way. A little more effective play from the depth could reduce minutes up top.

I'd be very happy if this guy is indeed a pain in the ass. We can use a bit of an edge.

Probably looking at:

Gaborik-Richards-Nash
Hagelin-Stepan-Pyatt
Boyle-Halpern-Powe/Asham
Bickel-Ferreiro-Asham/Powe
