Whether Shatty plays 1st or 2nd pairing is immaterial, crank up the PP and lets have fun. Clearing the zone for a transition just got alot easier than just dumping the puck out of harms way.

Must win those offensive zone FOs when on the PP. Stepan was abysmal at that.

Maybe go with something like:
McD/Smith
Skjei/Shatty

That way we shelter Shatty against top lines.

The only problem with this is that I think Skjei and Smith will be paired.

In the 2014-2015 several Pitt fans were saying its time to trade Crosby. Then he just helped them win 2 cups in a row.

As much as I despise Crosby for his antics, there's no way in hell I would ever advocate trading him away from my team. Same goes for Malkin.

Well you know how it goes. They were coming off some bad playoff years. They had a disappointing record (before Sully was brought in) so all of a sudden Crosby became too old, past his prime, too injured, and too expensive. It was time to "rebuild" so they should move Crosby.

Got him on a four-year deal at a lower AAV than anyone expected on a 6 year deal. Absurddddddddddddd.

He'll be on the third-pairing with Staal game one, though. AV gonna AV.

And yet other fans still had issues with this deal and claim he was overpaid :laugh:

I swear, any free agent signing the Rangers have is always met with the same criticism from other fan bases regardless of the contract terms.

laughing at all the comments on the girardi signing by tampa. mostly stuff like he's a fill in righty D and gives them some insurance blah blah blah. he's a marginal 6th guy at best. everyone is laughing at that 2 yr 6 mil mistake.

yet, last season, AV continued to insist he was still a legit 1 RD.

do not underestimate AV. i expect staal to be out there plenty.

But the main board told me Shattenkirk was a 3rd pair pp specialist anyway, he'll fit right in.

So many Devils fans with the classic "we didn't want him anyway" reaction. Shatty's contract is a home run for the Rangers.
