I can see a more offensive version of Sauer here. Fan favorite potential, IMO, and will be mean in playoff hockey.

One thing is for sure... Hartford will look better.

Who are we replacing him with? As much as he's struggled, we don't have a replacement for him, Unless Miller moves back to C. Either way, I'd rather sign Shattenkirk and trade Hayes or Miller in another trade rather than just trading for Vatanen.

I'd trust Lindberg to take his minutes at this point

Bereglazov can play on the left side, but I prefer him on his strong side. I think he can step in. He was a top-4 D-man on a team that won the Cup in 2016 and made the finals in 2017. He played 20-ish minutes a night. Not really a 3rd pair D-man who needs to grow in his role.

Oh, I know that. I just meant growing into his overall role as a player on this roster

This is an awesome signing, but why is everyone penciling him into the lineup next season? Nothing to me suggests he's a shoe in to make the team out of camp.

All of these good signings are great for Hartford. They need a full exorcism down there.

The Rangers have won their share of recruiting battles. Every team can offer the same contract. It comes down to selling the players on getting an opportunity to play in the NHL for the Rangers.

A lot of that success definitely is the result of Gorton and his recruiting style. Kudos to him on the recent success in this area.

Both Pionk and Bereglazov play the right side, correct?

Both of these guys are going to get NHL time this year. I suspect this is going to be the end of Staal and Girardi simultaneously, and if it is, there won't be room for Shattenkirk. These guys on ELC's are going to have to grow into their roles

Pionk played left side primarily. Left side on PP too for the one timer.

I don't get to see the western NCAA teams play very often, so I don't have as much to offer on this kid.

But on paper looks like a low-risk high-reward move. Right handed, young, small but not too small.

I would guess that with Glazzy coming in from Russia the plan is to start him in Hartford- could make a nice top pairing with Graves.

Bereglazov has a clause in his contract that allows him to return to KHL if he's assigned to AHL IIRC

hmm...

Coincidence that there's Bereglazov who can play the right and Pionk who can play the left signed in the same year? There's a good chance at least one, if not BOTH of these guys can give more than what Staal and Girardi are giving us right now

Yeah, which is why I expect that he'll probably make the team out of camp, leaving less room for guys like Pionk, Graves, ect.

Though a lot remains to be determined with Staal, Girardi, Holden, Klein and Shattenkirk this offseason to make too many predictions.

That would be a fairly ideal scenario if Gorton can somehow pull that off.

Can this actually happen please? We'd literally be revamping the entire organization from top to bottom
