Confirmed with Link: Rangers sign Dominic Moore (1 year, $1M)

He's a 4th line center. Don't know why people expect him to be a good 3rd line center, or an upgrade on Boyle.

I wish him all the best, but he's likely going to be spending a lot of time in Hartford. Two of Lindberg, Miller, and Boyle will take the available roster spots.

Better player than Boyle, Pyatt, Powe, Asham and Dorsett

Scoring still not addressed.

Oh well.

We already did the absolute best trade we could have done for scoring.

...Moore will not be in HFD.

Well, a lot of it is about production. Before his last season, when he started going through the stuff with his wife's illness, in the 4 prior seasons he averaged 34 points per 82 games. That's good 3rd line production.

He was a 4th liner with the Rangers. He developed into a good 3rd liner elsewhere. There are questions on what he will be like on returning to the NHL.

The contracts being handed out today have been absurd for the most part, I think if Sather plans to acquire someone who can put the puck in the net it will be via a trade. Not having Cally and Hags to start the season puts us in a rough spot which is why Pyatt and Boyle will be here to start the season unless kids clearly win spots in training camp or they are going the other way in a trade.

Richards-Stepan-Nash
Zuccarello-Brassard-Kreider
Boyle-Moore-Dorsett
Pyatt-Powe-Asham

That is an ugly opening night roster, hoping two out of Lindberg, Miller, Kristo, Fast, and etc will emerge to win a spot.

Powe and asham were waived so I don't think we will be seeing them. I think fast, Lindberg, miller, kristo, and hrivik will all be fighting for two or three spots so hopefully two can maybe be impactful players.

Here's what my opening line up would look like:

Kreider - Stepan - Nash
Zuccs - Richards - Kristo
Fast - Brassard - Dorsett
Boyle - Moore - Lindberg
Rotating in the line up - Miller

If we are going to struggle out of the gate, I'd prefer that we give meaningful minutes and run to the future of the franchise. and not the has-beens that populate the roster.

I disagree.

The CLowe and Clarkson deals were over payments.

But looking at the rest of the signings, I see some very good contracts.

Weiss under 5 per

Ribs at 5.5 per, a guy who has better numbers than Richards the last 6 years running

Hamonic signed a great deal.

Filppula is a little high, but I think he's a very underrated defensive center that plays LW very effectively.

Horton was under 6 per.

Haven't seen ONE 6 million salary yet.

Would prefer to have Ribiero over Richards at this point in their careers.

The Clarkson signing after 1.. ONE 30g season is the sign of Tor trying desperately to be relevant again...

The Clowe signing is downright stupidity from a franchise that is no longer relevant.... buffoonery...

Weiss is lucky, because he hasn't played quite a while to get that $$

Ribs... you're off on your #s... sloppy....You'd rather have this bum over Richards?

Hamonic? great move locking up that talent... :sarcasm:

Filipiipipa - ZZZzzzz

Horton - lucky to get that contract. sure to be injured soon. blue jackets are happy anyone will sign there....

glad to have him back. hopefully his head is clear and he helps us and we help him. this could be a steal or detriment. let's hope for the former.

The Clowe signing actually worries me. As much as I hate the shmevils Lou rarely makes an outrageously stupid move, unlike us. Did we blow it? Only time will tell.

there's nothing to not like about this signing. Solid player, very low risk contract, guy could be dropped on waivers in absolute worst case scenario, however he probably has some trade value at deadline IF he needs to be moved.

Otherwise, I like the signing. 1M is peanuts for what he'll bring to the roster.

Now we need J. Moore and D. Moore jersey's! :p

He's an nhl player and a good one

Great bargain for a reliable player like Dom

Haha for that contract he got? It was blessing we let him go. That would of killed us cap wise when he stinks.

You have to wonder where his head is and what kind of shape he's in.

Just going by his twitter, he seems like hes back to normal, joking around with ex players and stuff. I know its just twitter but thats all i can go on. I can't imagine how tough everything was for him, i'd be crushed for years if that happened to me.
