That's because you haven't watched them play every game probably.

I don't mean that offensively; they have been absolutely atrocious. Getting caved in by shit teams in time of possession and shot differential. Quick and Igor have stolen at least 6 of those wins.

With average goaltending they're a .500 team right now

They've been a shit analytical team that has been bailed out by goaltending for years now. This isn't anything new for them.

Uh they're 12-6-1 on the year and 6-4 in their last 10.

Really weird timing for this.
They have two wins against teams that are above fake NHL .500 and have largely gotten smoked by the few good teams they've played. Can only play so many games against Detroit and Ottawa

Definitely another good point. They’ve had a cupcake schedule so far. They’ve yet to even have a single back to back in the first two months of the season.

My question, how much $ for a retweet? Like they all woke up from the same bed and tweeting from the same phone

Wonder if Panarin still interested in LA.

Remember that time Blake & Luc didn't even make an offer because it wasn't the right time & they didn't have cap space? Then they got a call & managed to scrape together an offer at the last minute.

Edit: I'd take Trouba too. Not as good as he was, but better than Spence on the second pair.

The NYR problem is all the people they want to get rid of haave negative value. No one is trading for Mika / Trouba and giving you assets to upgrade your team.

Kreider prob fetches something from a contender though. Not sure what the NYR fan consensus is on him but as a rival fan, Id love to see him gone
Kreider down and up so far on his 7 year deal. 30 points in 50 games, then 77, 54, 75 the past 3. 9 goals and no helpers through 19 games this season. Goal numbers are great. Odd to have no A so far.

Both Trouba and Kreider can be moved to half the league on their MNTC. Trouba's MTNC drops again down to 12 clubs on July 1. I would imagine Trouba was strategic with his NMTC in listing only the clubs he doesn't think would trade for him.

I find it hard to believe the Rangers move Kreider. His contract is manageable even as his play begins to drop. He's a career 30 goal pace scorer that brings a dimension that many teams are missing or need more of.
after every game kreider and igor shake hands and ask how things are going becasue they havent seen each other on the ice since pre-game.

in other words. kreider is a ghost from the top of the circle to the end boards in his own zone. hes become a cherry picker.

If i was them, I'd be really conflicted about keeping Shesterkin... he is keeping them a contender, but alloting that much cap to a goalie is the antithesis of modern roster building.

So, do you just blow it all up then if you let Shesterkin walk? Or where do you go for a starting goalie next season - maybe roll the dice on Gibson?

This is a team right in the midst of their window being open. Won the President's Trophy last season and made it to the ECF 2 of the past 3 seasons.

I struggle to see how they don't just pay him.

Yeah they've been doing the special teams + Shesterkin method for a while now. To their credit, it's gotten then 2 games away from the finals on 2 occasions

Surprised it took them till mid-season to realize maybe they should improve a bit 5v5 in a meaningful way. This is something they could've done in the summer, it isn't new information

Trade for Tom Wilson so the infamous letter gets to come back full circle

Some sucker will bite on Kreider but I don't know what else they can do. Trouba is going to be as difficult as possible and refuse to be traded. It's a bad thing for everyone. Not just for the Rangers either. That f***ing flying elbow is going to be taking down plenty of players before his deal runs out. Also, they just called up Rempe, who is not interested in being a competitive player and just wants to injure his opponents.

They're going down swinging, quite literally.
In other news, water is wet

The Rangers are 12-6-1, I do not understand the panic around them.

Sure they got blown out by the Oilers, that happens, Mcdavid is incredible.

That doesn't seem like a reason to panic.

I agree but many fans want a move and management seems to agree

They are getting stale and replying too much on their goalies
