Why would they think the trouba thing would go any differently than last summer? He is a risk of not reporting to any other team.

The NYR problem is all the people they want to get rid of haave negative value. No one is trading for Mika / Trouba and giving you assets to upgrade your team.
Kreider prob fetches something from a contender though. Not sure what the NYR fan consensus is on him but as a rival fan, Id love to see him gone

Seriously though, he'd be a great fit here. Would fill Pavelski's role beautifully. Not sure what Rangers would want in return but salary would for sure have to go back the other way

That was never really substantiated.
His wife is basically stuck in New York for work until July 1st. As we move closer to July 1st, it becomes more likely that he's willing to move.
I don't see it happening now.

I understand Trouba but why Kreider? Big, physical, scores goals, still fast, good playoff performer...? Why is he on the chopping block? Or is this a ploy to get his arse in gear a bit?

The Rangers can score a lot of goals, but they give up a ton too. The forwards don't play any defense, the defense doesn't play any defense. Their record is 100% because of their goaltending. They are 31st in the league at rush chances against per game. They are near the bottom of the league in xGA too.

It seems like every NHL players wants to play for the NYR , so that's a lot less that i thought. I was expecting a 31 teams NTC

Lol I'd be surprised to see Kreider actually moved, The Fowler - Trouba proposal from the off season still makes sense though. The Ducks are set on the left side

Trouba is big RD and his contract isn't long in a rising cap environment). Of course teams will be interested. Its just a question of if the Rangers would retain, take bad salary back or incentivize another team with other pieces. And which teams are on Trouba's NTC.
