You’re missing the point and it’s not even one that I’m trying to argue vehemently but, when a player is going to be very public about having divided attention and a flashy off ice lifestyle, his play is always going to end up being looked at under the microscope of divided attention. If Lundqvist’s game had fallen apart when he started getting involved in restaurant ownership or casual fashion shoots people would have questioned his on ice commitment. If Subban wasn’t consistently having all star seasons people would wonder if all of his off ice videos and charity work were distracting him from his job. I’m not making any statements about Z. I’m simply saying he opened himself up to these types questions.
