Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Senators 2/21/13 - Miller Light

Looking ahead to Saturday, any one else in favor of Biron starting? Historically, Hank's been horrible in Le Centre Bell

I know I have a thing against Torts, but he is absolutely NOT the right guy for THIS Rangers team. This Rangers team is not the same as last season, We have more speed, we have more skill with the addition of Nash. This team should not be playing dumb (not dump) and chase hockey. This offense needs to be opened up and let loose (see tampa bay game, see boston bruins games, see first islanders game, etc), STOP WITH THE DUMP AND ****ING CHASE HOCKEY.. Also, this guy does not adjust for ****, I'm suprised he changes his damn underwear. The only thing this guy changes is the lines. He's too stubborn to change anything about his coaching. He's ridiculous with young players if you make a mistake, and for the love of God, STOP WITH PLAYING PREVENT OFFENSE WHEN YOU HAVE THE LEAD!!!!! ARRRRRRRRRGH

Same head coach that preaches, Safe is Death. He should learn from his own freakin statement. He sounds like a complete hypocrite.

This is another one of those Ranger things that's the same every year. They get hot goal scoring wise for a few games in a row and it's inevitably followed by a row of stinkers where the team can't hit the ocean from the beach.

How this game made me feel

I agree, this team is playing awful. The time to turn it around was yesterday. Something needs to be shaken up.

That said, how can anyone complain about luck when you're playing the Senators of this season? It's like complaining about a stubbed toe to someone who just lost their house. We need some perspective, we're horribly underperforming - theres no outside force of bad luck, we're in full control here. Fix it, put your head down and grind forward.

Bingo.

Have the 3rd and 4th line do that ****; you're first and second lines should be raining down shots from every angle.

Here's another thing that irked me tonight:

Micholetti quoted Mike Sullivan saying something along the lines of "we need to be more productive 5v5". And then I'm constantly reminded that we're 30th in the NHL on PP. Is this a joke?

Biron got rocked last time he played their too. It's not the goalies it's this team. They haven't won up there since 2009. Not holding my breath.

1/3 of the season in the books.

32 games left. 8-6-2. This team is anywhere from a 6-12 finish.

He was AWFUL on that first shootout attempt, a ****ing farce. This is not the first goal he gives up like that too. Ridiculous. The second shootout goal was tougher to blame on him, I bet he got fooled because he ****ing flubbed the shot. The goals in the game weren't his fault. I fail to see how he was that terrible.

Still pissed off that garbage first shootout goal. WTF was he doing? Looked like a bad ECHL backup. Complete unacceptable.

It's a testament to how good Lundqvist is that he even got a hand on it, Silfverberg's slogan is his quick release.

Look at Silfverbergs shootout shot vs. the Devils a day ago. Same shot, except Brodeur didn't even come close.

They dont care about the PP's. Its all about 5 v 5........ Torts was interviewed about this on NBC with Pierre.

Yea. He is right at the top of the list of biggest problems we have.

No he's at the bottom of the list. However, is it asking too much to have your vezina superstar goalie not look like a bad ECHL backup on that first shootout goal? I'm not sure about the second, I guess it's hard to make a save when a guy does something he didn't mean to do. Still we would have had as good of a chance with Biron in the shootout today.

Gaborik was everywhere tonight. He also played well against Montreal as well. Tortorella even made note of it. IMO its blown outta proportion.

Totorella made note of it? What does that mean? Does that mean Gaborik somehow can finish and isn't terrified of getting even a little bit dirty?

Ok guys it's time to come clean with me. Am I on the Truman Show???? Is the entire existence of the New York Rangers orchestrated so that you all can watch my hilarious reactions on national tv???

Tonight I didn't even get mad. I was sitting there just laughing my ass off (yes stone cold sober too).

Some highlights:

-Silvferberg's goal, just benny hill-esque effort from the PP notably DZ and Girardi. Dan watch out for the banana peel next time.

-1 or 2 shifts later, DZ gets a rebound in the crease with a wide open net. He buries his head and fires a backhander into the Sens' dman's shinpads instead of taking a step and elevating the puck into a gaping net.

- 2nd period now. There was a shift where Gilroy and DZ missed the net wide with point shots 4 times in a row. There needs to be a gif made of this. Gilroy...wide...off the boards...back to DZ on the left point....wide...off the boards...back to Gilroy...

-Hey Gabby maybe shooting 5-hole in the shootout will work once in the next 200 times you try it.

-The Miller followed by game-winning attempts were seriously too ridiculous to make up. Unbelievable.

Yay one point. Thanks Hank.

Oh god, that was ****ing hilarious

This is like players-only meeting territory. Shake up territory. Firing territory.

Is Delzaster ever going to figure it out?

He plays well for a stretch then reverts back to ****.

We had to injure their goalie just to have a chance. I think that says it all.

Perhaps I need to look at it again, but to me Kreider hit him while sliding on the ice. Doesn't seem like something that Kreider would do on purpose, sliding on the ice for the fun of it.

Was he not tripped?

By the way, TOTALLY forgot how homerific the Senators announcers are.

One of the most biased tandems in the league.

Of course I have to wait another 10 games for the MSG broadcast, because we're the New York Rangers.

Wish he beat him cleanly. I wouldn't feel like jumping off a ****ing building right now.

Yes he was clearly tripped, which should have been called.
