Either the rangers severely underpriced our tickets or the tickets on the resale market are insanely high. I know its early and supply is not fully out there yet but a 145 cost for west balcony, its a min of 340 to get in not counting fees. I've never seen that high of margin on a first round

It's people reselling. NYR pricing is the same as last year per my buddy with season tix.

I did a double take when looking at my account this morning and saw the tickets loaded vs the current marketplace. I'm also in the balcony and was shocked when I saw $145 per ticket. Everyone is anticipating the Devils, and while that's a good bet, you also don't know. Since Svechnikov got hurt, Carolina is 7-7-1. NJ isn't much better.

Florida hasn't clinched, so Carolina has at least one team that is going to be fighting them in their last game. Florida could also be trying to avoid that 8th spot regardless. Devils have Buffalo on a 2nd of back to backs and then Washington. I think they will win both of those games. So long as both are regulation wins, Carolina would need to win 2 of 3, in any fashion to clinch. Ottawa tonight, Detroit tomorrow (both are on 2nd of back to backs).

If NJ wins the division, that secondary market will explode with resale and the price will drop significantly.

hmmm great point that i didnt even factor in regarding playing nj for cost purposes. all prior years the first round you could almost get in close to face or slightly above that. i'll have to keep an eye on it as the days progress

Only a $15 increase for R1 though is not bad. Was resale pricing this bad last year?
i forget

Sort of speculative right now - no one knows who we are playing yet.

My very limited YEAR of playoff experience says timing is an equally important factor. With a half plan, I got game 1 and 5 of Pittsburgh last season.

Went to opener. But after getting run out of their barn in games 3 and 4, I (sadly, unloyally) threw in the towel and made a kings ransom on selling game 5. I think being closer to game time brings a whole nother level of pricing dynamics.

Anyway, not sure how anyone can compare playoff secondary “year to year” even with a $15 rack rate increase. Especially as a few have said - if we end up drawing the Canes in R1, the secondary market will collapse to rubble in a nanosecond.

People are usually ready to spend in round 1, you could have gotten some good “bargains”last year for games 3 and 4 vs Carolina in round 2. They came home down 2-0, and it’s not a geographical rival.

People paid a fortune for game 7 vs Pitt.

If it’s Carolina in round 1, I could see people waiting for a round two matchup to spend their money, especially if the other Metro series is Devils/Islanders.

Has anyone been able to get Chase Club reservations? I tried when they reopened and all Rangers games said sold out for the remainder of the season. I just looked this morning and all 1st round playoff games are sold out even though they dont even have the right dates listed. Seems weird that theres usually availability for Knicks games and not Rangers games.

They get snatched up quickly. Periodically check to see if reservations open up as people throw theirs back.

Knicks playoff schedule out.

I would guess games 3 and 4 for Rangers at MSG are Saturday and Monday with Billy Joel concert Saturday being moved.

Yup and there is a disclaimer on Ticketmaster when you view the Billy Joel concert saying the date and time are subject to playoffs.

Game 3 on Saturday night would be my guess, and would happen to think it will be an ABC national broadcast only.

Sat at 3pm would be perfect

Just went to transfer my buddy his ticket for Saturday and the countdown to touch your tickets ends Thursday at 8pm. Thinking Game 6 will be 8pm on Saturday.

What is a “summer sale”? Thank you
After the season (and after the NYK season), MSG has a summer sale where they sell a bunch of merch heavily discounted. Mostly apparel- shirts, hats, jerseys of former but not current players- plus some smaller memorabilia things like pucks, keychains, etc. Mostly Rangers and Knicks, but also some other MSG-related properties (eg, Rockettes).
