My time was 2 pm Tuesday. Seemed like everything in the 200s I clicked on were rows 11 and higher. Additionally I was surprised to see so much inventory in the 100s…but wicked expensive.

224, here we go again.

After the season (and after the NYK season), MSG has a summer sale where they sell a bunch of merch heavily discounted. Mostly apparel- shirts, hats, jerseys of former but not current players- plus some smaller memorabilia things like pucks, keychains, etc. Mostly Rangers and Knicks, but also some other MSG-related properties (eg, Rockettes).
When will it be?

Yea row 7 is great. I have row 12. Been there since the renovation. Haven’t been able to move up in that section since
Funny story. The guy who has the other 1/2 of the season is renowned for leaving at the end of period 2 - REGARDLESS of score OR if it’s the playoffs. For example, he had game 7 against Pitt last season and was probly back home in bed when Panarin scored in OT lol.

Now that I’m a STH when the Rangers have an outdoor game, I’m assuming I’ll be able to get tickets at face value, right?
As a sth you'll get early chance to buy tickets at face. There will be like 80k seats for sale at ridiculous prices so I'm not sure that's a big advantage.

This is by far and away the least excited I've been for one of these outdoor games. That feeling seems to be mutual with most of my friends that are Islanders fans as well. I don't think this game is going to be a super hot one, especially if it ends up being a night game.

I remember demand not being that strong for 2014 (due to there being 2 games) as well as 2018 at the prices they charge and secondary wound up dipping below face for both Citi Field and the Islanders game at Yankee Stadium due to the weather. Maybe there will be slightly more demand this time around due to it being a while since there last one but you're right about the seats (80K compared to games where demand was already soft at 40-50K seats) and I think it's very inconvenient for anyone on Long Island to get to (both for Rangers and Islanders fans) compared to the Bronx or Queens which was more centralized in terms of coming from anywhere.

It being in NJ can now be a home game? and become part of our season plans?

Not entirely sure. The law is very vague and doesn't specify whether or not home games out of state count as breaching it. There's been a lot of different interpretations of it in the article below and as noted, they did play "home" games in Toronto in the bubble and I believe the first time they went to Europe in 2008 they also played a "home" game there. Regardless, I think it'll go down as an Islanders home game just to be safe and also because the NHL has to pay out the host team for a sellout date since they're taking a home date away and it's cheaper to pay out the Islanders for that rather than the Rangers given the difference in prices.

I keep going back and forth if the secondary market is the way to go for this. 80,000 is a lot and a lot of the seats will be pretty bad. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in the world that prefers a baseball stadium configuration for these.

For all the ones I attended, I was able to sit in the first few rows of the top deck and have an amazing view of the game.

My jets seats are first row in the uppers and my knicks seats are 1st row on the chase bridge. My seats are much higher at metlife than msgIf you get a sideline seat in the uppers you would be really high - the view of the game could be decent but you may be too high to easily identify the players on the ice at a glance, let alone the puck.

That's kind of my point. I don't want to watch the game on the jumbotron. I just pulled up a map of Gillette Stadium - https://external-preview.redd.it/yB...bp&s=cd842785ed415d720e23e2a55e7af11bade0514e

and it looks like the ice is from the 20 to the 20. That being said, 226-241 and 211-216 will have the best views of the game. The 100 levels between the 20s will be hit or miss. At some point. I'm going to look at 3D charts and take a guess at where I want to sit and look at prices. That day is not today.

Take a look at this map from 2016 and look at the price discrepancy between the sections we talked about and the next highest priced section.

This is wishful thinking but I'm hoping they charge a decent amount less for these games. That was a Winter Classic, 7 years ago when there was still more hype around outdoor games, and they're running 2 games under the same rink and stadium setup so they're already saving on costs there. Not to mention MetLife is 15K more in capacity. I know they'll be pricey but I feel like at those prices we're going to see a situation where thousands upon thousands of tickets are either discounted through a backdoor method or donated to charities and organizations just to get the building filled.

We all know they are going to charge the same, but more likely more.

They love to take advantage that it's a great Xmas gift.

I'm colorblind so I can't really tell but from what you're saying it sounds like those center midtiers were superexpensive. Now 7 years later it'll be NYR vs NYI and I imagine it'll be $500+. No thanks.

Not to get all up in everyone’s grill, but putting on my Marketing Hat -

This isn’t about “seats/view.” This is about “being there.”

If you don’t wanna go - hopefully some dummy will take them off your hands. (That’s my strategy, if this game lands in my 1/2 season plan.)

The Rangers are the away team, so for better or worse, the tickets won't land in any of our plans. And I think for the home team, these games are not included even if you have a full plan-- you just pay for 81 and then have the option to buy. Not positive on that since we've never been the home team in the 4 outdoor games we've played.

You'll get a presale. With the Yankee Stadium games, the presale also had pretty crappy seats. I think this will be a secondary market type event for me. I want see the forecast before I commit.

All of this will probably change 100+ times in the next few months.

schedule was released today. was excited to see this listed on the website:
  • Twenty-two games will be played on Saturday, the most of any day of the week.
...until i realized 18 of the 22 Saturday games are away games. Seriously?
