For I believe 21 games + 2 preseason my invoice was 5,236.00 (2 tickets). That would come out to $113 a ticket.... So you are in the lower rows and paying just 8 more a ticket? Something has to be wrong.
Nothing wrong. They charge significantly more for a half season on a per seat basis.

The flaw in your plan isn't cheaper seats. It's having a half season.

I agree. There is a significant difference between Full vs Half.

3 years ago I had a half season in Section 104 Row 13. I then moved to Row 1 of Section 226 and it was about the same.
Keep in mind Row 1 and 2 of the 200 level are considered "Premium" seats and are a higher price due to TVs, cup holders, more legroom, etc. It was a pretty much a wash cost wise even with the increase that year. But I didn't like those seats at all. I liked being in front row and higher but the TVs and glass railing got in the way of the view to be honest. I talked to others in Row 1 and they agreed. I would've preferred row 2 but the first row intrigued me. Lesson learned there.

Then 2 years ago I moved from a half season in the 1st row of Section 226 level and moved to a full season in the 100 level , directly below in Section 119.
Full season in Section 119 Row 20 were $58 cheaper per ticket ($116 per game) than Row 1 of Section 226.
Same seat numbers so same distance from the aisle for comparison, no extra cost for aisle seats.

This year I got an additional 2 seats as a Half Season, Section 120 Row 20 and the seats are $30 per ticket ($60 per game) more than my full season. My less expensive seats in Section 119 are closer to center ice.

I'm second guessing not getting another pair at a full season instead of half and sell what I can't use.

I see first hand now how selling at face value for a half season can't compete with the full season ticket holders and why tickets around me were always listed so much less for prime games. Of course those who had tickets longer paid even less for their full season.

This is why on the tickets I have for sale my face value listed is so much higher for Section 120 vs Section 119.
Sometimes I just drop Section 120 to the Section 119 face value if I'm going to use my 119 tickets.
I'm still paying more in the end but makes me feel better somehow that I'm not losing as much. :D

The price differential is based on Full season vs Half Season as well as seniority. A brand new full season ticket holder will pay more for the same seats as someone who has had the seats for several years.

Would be nice if they laid this type of information out.

Going to be eating quite a bit of money this year. I better still have my tenure of being a ticket holder since 2000 when relocation comes back around.

If you've been a season ticket holder since 2000, straight through with no breaks, your tenure will carryover.
If you took off a year then no, you start over. I had tickets for 10 years, stopped for awhile and came back as new business.

Your tenure factors into relocation and adding additional seats. You get to choose seats earlier if you have higher seniority. Your appointment time will be before someone who has a lower priority.

Oh ok good. I had full since 2000 and went to half this season. Thanks

I'm in your section in the lower rows and my average price is 119. What's yours?
I am $144 per for a lower row in that section half season (factoring in pre). 18% difference for 2x the nut. Nothing available in the 200s for fulls this year though there's a boatload in the lower if you're rich.

After a long flight home last night and a full day at work I think I'm going to beg off of hocktoberfest and take a long nap.

Don’t blame you. Going to pass as well.

Not going to say it's a mistake to not go, but the event was great.

Chytil and Lindgren were there instead of Strome.

Food was solid and the booze was free. Yes, the booze was all free. Beer and Jagermeister was available.

Kakko was on his own. His security guard was massive. He had 4 people with him at all times. Kakko is already a legit beast. Big dude and he's going to get bigger and stronger.

Tony and Buchnevich were grouped together. Buch is as awkward as you think he is.

Chytil and Lindgren looked happy to be here after their time in Hartford.

All in all, a great event.

There is no way this can be true. The full season tickets all go up the same time across the board when they raise prices.

I will second the motion. Definitely best STH event I’ve been to. Got pics w 24, 77,89,72,55,14 and plenty of food (German themed) with virtually no lines and plenty of booze (good beer and Jager) with short lines. I was pretty impressed. Everyone seemed pretty cheery especially after Tuesday.

Kakko is a beast and if we can imagine what he will be like when he fills out forget it.

There is seating charts that come out each year for STHs, all the prices are the same, it doesn't matter what your tenure is as a STH.

That's because you don't get to see the tenured seating chart. It only loads in for those accounts that are tenured.

You see the public facing one, which has the same prices that new subscribers get.

No it's very true, new business does not get the same price as a long time seat holder. You can see this especially with the Knicks who haven't made the playoffs since 2013, which means no price increase (for full season from 2013) in the past 6 years. To make up the difference they increased every year on new subscriptions, so someone who signed up this year for fulls is probably paying close to twice the price on some sections.

NYR/NYK stopped publishing price charts many years ago, because there is no "price" anymore. The same seat probably has about 30+ price points for the season depending on how it's bought, what sort of plan (if any), and opponent/day of week/weather/etc etc

I have had my seats for many years and 2 years ago, I asked to by a single seat that was close to me for the entire season. They would NOT sell it to me at my season ticket holder price, but face value ticketmaster price - but they said if I bought it again the following year they would give it to me at my STH price.

That's weird because I didn't think for an addition to your account they would do that.

Rangers tickets are a really hard sell this year, it's pretty rough out there. It's completely the opposite for the Knicks, resale market is super strong especially day of game

It is always like that in October/ November. Too many home games usually, and you still have baseball, football and basketball starting.
