Rask's contract expires at 34 though. And I know that's 39.

Yeah, it's a nice contract.

Boston paid more for potential though. Because at the time of the signing, Rask had just recently become a starter. It was an RFA contract.

They overspent by about 2.5-3MM a year. Can't wait to read all the Sather bashing this summer when he doesn't have the cap space to sign a big time forward and all you coconuts are accusing him of being asleep at the wheel.

This would be the best possible outcome.

The last thing we need is another Sather Big Time Free Agent Special.

I do not approve of this. Hank is going to slow down as he gets older. I do like that he will likely be a career Ranger.

I would have preferred an $8 million cap hit but I'm not going to quibble over it. The fact is that Lundqvist has the potential to be the greatest homegrown Ranger of all time. I am ecstatic that he will get an opportunity to become that.
