Zucc being out just deflated that offense I think. Blaming Hank for two poor starts is a touch outlandish when they literally scored zero goals in that game 7, which that team owed him for constantly playing out of his mind.

At the end of the day, Tampa didn't outscore us. Both teams scored 21 goals in 7 games. It's not as if our offense was completely outplayed by Tampa. I love how it's outlandish to blame Lundqvist for giving up 12 in 2, but it's perfectly acceptable to blame the offense for not scoring in game 7.

Reunanen was scoreless, played 21 minutes, and had a whopping 8 shots. Glad he's getting big minutes as this is a big year for him developmentally. Old buddy Jarkko Immonen had 2 assists for JYP.

Lundkvist is playing for Lulea. He hasn't registered anything on the score sheet. No idea about TOI--real time stats in Swedish leagues are hard to come by, from my knowledge.
stats.swehockey.se is the official stats site of the Swedish Hockey Federation and it's not good for real time stats.
SHL.se is better though, if you click on a game and then "Statistik" and then the name of a team you can find at least some stats that are updated during the game. G, A, TOI, Hits for example.

Rykov traded to HC Sochi

Think, it's a good thing for him. He'll get some playing time, and Sochi's head coach is that guy named Sergei Zubov, who was a pretty decent defenseman himself.

Want to share a source?

Edit: Nevermind, found it on the khl site :)

Sochi has some other decent defenders. Yohann Auvitu was a pretty good Liiga player and also has 58 games over the past two season with the Devils and Oilers. Alexander Budkin has moved around a good bit but is a veteran of 270+ KHL games. Jyrki Jokipakka I think many remember as he has 150 NHL games, 87 AHL games, a few years in Liiga, and international experience. Vadim Khomitsky was a fourth round pick of Dallas who never stayed, instead playing 400 KHL games to date. Nikita Shchitov also has 485 games of KHL experience. They also have some other depth, including Sergey f***ing Zborovskiy. They're basically right in the middle of the pack, defensively.

So, with all that said, it will be interesting to see how it works with Rykov. Does he get big minutes off the bat? Does he have to kind of work his way up the lineup? It will be interesting to see how Sochi values him, since SKA was purportedly not thrilled with his play.

Didn't Zubov coach SKA while Buchnevich played there? Probably knows Rykov from his SKA days.

Olof Lindbom isn't dressing for Djurgardens today. I know they have a couple other goalies they like but I'm wondering if something is wrong with Lindbom, as this has been three or four straight games where he hasn't dressed.

Pajuniemi is playing. 4th line duties again.

Former prospect Malte Stromwall has scored for KooKoo. He has 5-5-10 in his 9th game so far this season. Goes to show how difficult it can be to translate production from one league to another (reminder for Meskanen and particularly Lindqvist).

When I saw him in Turku last year, I noticed flashes of what he can do. He is just so smart on the ice. Definitely noticeable. I expected a month or two to adjust to the speed in the KHL but he seems to just ease into it from day 1. Great sign towards his development

Yeah, but I think Malte showed flashes in the AHL but there is a difference between SM-liigaa and Allsvenskan and the SHL/AHL. If he hanged around the AHL all of a sudden he breaks out at that level too, kind of like a JAM have in the NHL at an older age. But it did/does seem very likely that a NHL future was unlikely...

For Meskanen and Lindqvist I think it comes down to wanting it enough, being hungry enough. Learn that they must make their own fortunate. Nothing will be handed to them for free. Nobody will serve them anything on a platter just because you dress up on the same team in the AHL. The first month of two you need to win your spot on the team. Then eventually you can get a role where others do the dirty work and dig out pucks in the corner for you and what not.

I was really hoping it would get so bad they'd just let him walk and he'd be in the AHL by November, but that wasn't realistic. So this isn't bad. I still hate having three of our top prospects in Russia.
