I think the difference is Othmann is driving production on his line while Grachev was riding coattails on Duchense's and Hodgson's production.
Oh, for sure. I was just joking, there's no real comparison between the two. Grachev was just too big and fast for the OHL. There are some knocks on Othmann but he's not just getting by using superior physical characteristics.

Most fans just know whoever Larry Brooks decides to focus on prior to the draft. That's why everyone wanted Mittelstadt in 2017
I don't recall people around here wanting him, especially after his performance at the combine. I think most were focused on Makar, Pettersson and Glass.

Ironically, Mittelstadt would have been a better pick than Andersson, though I think we turned that situation into a positive with Cuylle.

Mittelstadt isn't really the success story I'd travel back to 2017 for to alter our pick to be honest. He's been disappointing in his own right. That 2017 draft was a mess after the top-6 ironically. And even Glass at 6th overall hasn't really done anything other than living up to his name in a literal sense.

No doubt. Just comparing him to Lias. I'm hoping Cuylle will end up being the best of the 3.

I loved Nečas in his draft year but truth be told, that was more familiarity bias than anything else as I lived an hour from Brno and saw him a bunch of times.

I still felt he was a reach at 7 and going with Lias made more sense on draft day to me.

Who is this dolt? Looking back at the rankings, all the big outlets except for one had him ranked in the top 20. But what do they know
Yea flat lining stats going from juniors to a pro league is a ‘death sentence’. Maybe don’t be so arrogant about how you state it too. f*** off with that stupidity, and own up to it and acknowledge that hey maybe same league flat lining stats is totally different than moving up a tier to division 2 men.

you guys are a little too pressed about that tweet lol. he was very likely wrong, all of us are wrong basically every day

Well apparently there were a heck of a lot of them on Twitter that knew about this guy either. I’ll never forget it, I’m coming out of Citi Field and reading the comments and it was one after another, of different variations of, “Drury is ruining this team.”

yup, top 20 rankings have never been wrong on projecting players

Worse than Gauthier if wanted a comparison to Grachev results.

That goal was by MN State in OT to win the CCHA Championship over Bemidji State. Problem is, 20 minutes after the game ended, the CCHA saw new footage that the puck actually went in under the net while it was lifted up. So they brought out the Zamboni, and called everyone back to restart the OT like an hour later. Never seen anything like it--closest was that SO we thought we won where they then made us come back.

Anyway, MN State won (again) like 3 minutes into the restarted OT.
