My dreams revolve around a combination of Keith Richards, Brazilian butts, pharmacology and a baby named Stewie - you need to up your dreams

He's talking his Rangers dream there. If you wanna talk real life overdose sex party dreams, I think we all got that covered to a satisfying degree.

With these top 50 lists, and 31 teams, that means less than 2 players per team. We got 4. There isn't much room left and most teams have one or two guys with big upside. And Miller didn't even get to play a full season last year.

Damn, I wish Rangers had tried harder to pry Zegras or Caufield (caufield mostly because he dropped) away during the draft. Two elite players that would have put our rebuild into absolute overdrive.

Not having an elite center will definitely hamper our cup chances down the line. I love Zib but he's not a guy that's going to take us to the promised land

We'll see how it plays out though... they may get another chance at next years draft.

I agree, but Zegras is probably not that elite center either. They are hard to find.

We are also a bit short in general on those real dynamic quick feet forward types.

Kakko and Kravtsov will have us covered in that regard. Absolutely convinced they are both top-notch players (and quick feet forward types).

Really hoping that Barron will basically surprise us all and just take one of the top-two center spots available.

What I love about Barron is not only the huge jump in point production, but that he was also a beast defensively. I could see him being a complete 2nd line center if he keeps producing.

That would solve problems. I mean, we have no idea what is to come. The best solution to the center problem is, that the answer is already in the system.

And even if not, the upcoming draft has options, top 5, top 10 or top 20. We can solidify the C position furthermore, but we have many rooks in that regard.

We need to play the C-kids at their position, mainly talking about Chytil atm though.

Eliteprospects already has Reunanen loaned to Lukko for what it’s worth. Im not sure if he’s participating in their training camp or joining after Traverse City though.

his profile shows him loaned back but it isn't listed as a confirmed transaction so I don't think anything is official yet.

I think they're just jumping the gun. They make their determinations on who will be in Hartford, Maine, etc., pretty early on before any practices have even happened. They may just be under the assumption that he will go back to Lukko instead of playing in Hartford.

That is too lofty, IMO. I certainly hope so, but I think a good 3C is more realistic. People that have watched him describe him as a likely better skating Brian Boyle. Which I would easily take.

Well, the same guy that made the Boyle comparison, who watches him every game, also said he once only saw top-9 upside in him and now sees top-6. And while making the "realistic" Boyle comparison, said he's more skilled at respective points in their careers than Rick Nash, and has Kevin Hayes with a better motor (and lesser stick-handling) upside.

Also worth considering is that he doesn't play C for Cornell, generally.

I clearly do not watch enough of him to know what is and what is not realistic. As such, I will rely on people that do. But what I do know of him, 2C seems like a very high hope. Hopefully it does turn out that way, would be an absolute home run for the franchise.

I think Caufield is going to score 30-40 in the NHL. There aren't many kids that come along who can beat goalies with one shot from any angle. As long as he skates 200 feet during the game, he's going to play imo. MTL has done an excellent job with their kids the last few years. Romanov is going to be a top 4 defenseman. I'm a huge fan of Poehling. Kid had an accelerated development curve. Fell a bit in the draft. Going to be a goal scoring center.

It isn't just about the draft slot to get that center, it's also about what you're looking for in the player profile. The reason why we aren't lauding the Rangers is their center prospects all played in the NHL before age 20, and none have yet to physically mature so some of their struggles are more evident.

Not saying I don't want a big number 1 center, but just trying to keep things in perspective.

What did you want them to do? By all accounts, Gorton tried to make a deal but there was no deal to be made. Not for 9-10, not for 16.

What is is about ZBad's play that makes you say he is not taking you to the promised land? You pine for Zegras but the reality is that it is a long shot that he ever becomes as good as ZBad. Give him a better support cast last year, and you are looking at an 85-90 point player who routinely goes up against the opposition's top line and are exclaiming from the rooftops about how the Rangers have an elite top line center.

Problem with Zibanejad is going to be whether to sign him to another contract to take him until age 34 and commit to that or cut bait and hope to find a replacement elsewhere.
If he continues to put up top numbers I think you gotta sign him and hope for the best because if the Rangers are already thin on center talent trading Zibanejad is going to make things look even more ugly

first need to find the 'new zibanejad' that will be a #1 center at 25 when that decision needs to be made and then we can worry about keeping the 1-2 punch or not
