Jones had a hell of a year and a Championship tournament where he showed some highlight skills. If the Rangers scouts believe that he can translate that into the pro game, then even a handful of games in this lost season will sky rocket Jones' trade value. We've got some great assets on D and the more NHL games they get, the higher their value. The bet's worth an ELC year to me.

Själin was -1 with 3 SOG.

Lundkvist was scoreless with 3 SOG. Just a curiosity, but despite being a decent-to-prolific point producer for his whole SHL career, he has just 1 point in 12 career playoff games.

Edström scored again. He's at 2-2-4 in 4 playoff games after being 3-7-10 in 43 regular season games.

Mr. Universe Karl Henriksson was back in the lineup and was -1 with a shot in 10 minutes.

Schneider up to 3 G, 15 A, 18 P in 16 games and is a +15. Having a very nice D+1 season so far.

Can't help but notice though, Connor Zary is tearing it up with 16 points in 8 games in the WHL for Kamloops after putting up 7 points in 9 games to start the year in the AHL.

Yes but if the NHL somehow changes its format and allows for a 4th D-pairing, we're set

Points Shmoints

The owners will sooner go for two pairs on D and three forward lines before allowing a roster increase.

Or go 4 on 4 permanently.

We would have to rethink positions and rosters entirely.

I actually wonder what the data is on goals scored per 60minutes in four on four hockey versus five on five.

Im not advocating it, but it would be very entertaining and build a lot of rover type positions.

Especially since the recent significant increase in speed and skill of the game at the highest level, I started to view 4 on 4 as simultaneous PP opportunities for both team.

Bring back the rover! (6th skater, even before my time ...)

Per wikipedia, eliminated in early 1920's
"A rover was a position in ice hockey used from its formation in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. At the time ice hockey consisted of seven positions: along with the goaltender, two defencemen, and three forwards, positions which still remain. Unlike all the others, the rover did not have a set position, and roamed the ice at will, going where needed

Lundkvist scoreless again, -2 with 1 shot.

Sjalin scoreless with 6 SOG, +1.

Aaltonen still didn't play.

KooKoo losing 4-1 means their season is pretty much over unless they can recover in the final game tomorrow.

The prelim this year is a 2-game matchup with an aggregate score determining the winner. So they need to score at least 4 (away goals are the first tie-breaker) tomorrow.

Is Lundkvist's struggle scoring in the playoffs a fluke or something to be concerned about?
I have a feeling it's nothing more than a statistical oddity, but that's based on nothing more than a hunch.

I really haven't watched him since early in the season. Kinda like, you know what you have with him at this point.

The last few games of the regular season and this series they have been leaning on the Gustafsson-Lundkvist pairing a bit more in defensive zone situations. They're really struggling as a team the last month or so (since Ilomäki left actually).
