I think it's really time we start focusing on getting a center in the first round. we have talent at literally every other position.

I could be wrong, but I think the most likely scenario is the Rangers add picks and/or a defensive prospect to move up in the next draft to grab someone they like.

I like the idea of a Lundkvist for a Zegras or Turcotte as much as anyone, but that feels highly unlikely to me.

The only problem is this looks like a heavy defenseman draft.

Yea there is no way Ducks are trading Zegras, he's untouchable. Turcotte would be more likely since they got Byfield and Vilardi, but even that is a huge huge longshot.

What's stopping him from being a 2nd line winger just out of curiosity?

He's a bit one-dimensional. Offensively, he's sound but defensively he really isn't good enough to be in the top-6. He's only 21, so that might change, but if he makes the team in 2022, after a year in Hartford, the 3rd line makes sense. 3RW behind Kakko and Kravtsov (assuming they trade Buchnevich)

All I remember is Turcotte being criticized during the WJC around these parts as a guy that's a jack of all trades master of none. How has he been coming along?

Turcotte had the same challenges in WI as K'Andre Miller. He's currently in the AHL but 4 games in, it's probably a bit early to tell.

I know Anaheim won't trade Zegras, but that's not due to the value in the proposed trade. I think Zegras for Lundkvist is fair, but Anaheim probably wants to hang on to him due to their center depth

If I were offered Turcotte for Lundkvist, I would prolly have to pull the trigger on that.

Just based on need and depth at D in our organization.

Thought his play got better and improved as the tourney went on and played against the betters teams in WJC.

Yeah, I'd expect this if he was on the u20 team, but this is the men's NT. This is just crazy talk at this stage.

Every time I think he can't surprise me, he does something that has me scratch my head.

If he keeps this up Trouba is going to be the highest paid third pairing defenseman in the league before long

If you really want to keep the Lindgren-Fox pairing, I'd go with this:

Lindgren-Fox
Reunanen-Trouba
Miller-Lundkvist

PP: Lundkvist, Miller, Trouba
PK: Lindgren, Fox, Miller, Trouba

I love Fox, but on the PP he just seems to slow down the play too much. Trouba and Miller do a much better job IMO distributing the puck with limited time and ice.

It’s kind of you to put Reunanen - Trouba ahead of Miller - Lundkvist

Lord he played half the game.

You don't see that often from teams that aren't super weak with one star blueliner.

Largely irrelevant tournament and Larionov sits Kravtsov for the whole game at the end of the first? Not sure if it was warranted. Was there a long-term goal? I don’t see it.
